West Ham (a) pre-match thread

I'd do the following not only for West Ham but going forward, injuries permitting:

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte Ake
Rodrigo
De Bruyne Bernardo
Sterling Aguero Ferran
By default, De Bruyne plays deeper and partners Rodrigo pinging balls into opposition dangerous areas. Bernardo to be the main playmaker.
I think this will solve the puzzle of playing both together and because most teams defend against us, De Bruyne playing deeper should be our default mode and the implication would be that the creativity from both players is not hindered.

If the opposition decides to play football, we unleash De Bruyne on them in attacking positions while Bernardo reclines to support Rodri and so KDB will have space to wreak havoc.

I believe this plan will work.

Don't ever want to see Cancelo at left back again

Need put a run of wins together in league ahead of Anfield trip

Could really get one over on them while they are reeling from the Van Dijk tragedy

One of the worst performances by a city player in a long time that. He made Mendy and even Kolarov look like world beaters with that performance last night.

Four very winnable games now over the next 3 weeks that for me are key to our season. We need to get our sharpness back, a few key players back up and firing and then take us into the Liverpool and Spurs games. If we come out of those relatively unscathed i think things will look really good for us.

That all being said we'll probably lose 3 and have another 4 injuries now.

2 days training isn’t going to be enough for Laporte to feature, kdb could though as he’s not been out long, likely to see him from the bench.

Walker Dias stones and then whoever is fittest from cancelo Ake and zinchenko for left back. Rodri (because we have no alternative) then Foden and Torres to be rewarded with a start at the expense of Gundogan and mahrez.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Diaz
Ake
Rodri
Bernardo
Foden
Sterling
Torres
Aguero.

Very few if any have selected our second best player from the Porto game, namely Gundog. Moreover I suspect that those who were rested in the second half and those they replaced will all start. Time to maybe rest Sterling, Mahrez and possibly Walker before they break down. Sensible rotation is the key.

I never fancy our chances against City. However with the injuries that you currently have I am hopeful of perhaps sneaking a point. After the start we've had, in terms of fixtures, I am more hopeful than I have been since about 1985,that we might have a half decent season. Always had a soft spot for City (West Ham of the North..with cash). Whatever else you do this season, do us a favour and trounce the scum from Tottenham.
Cheers
Always had a soft spot for the irons myself
We have both suffered at the hands of our local rivals for much of my life...
Agree it will be a tough game for City and this season is developing a habit for unpredictable results.
Also hope to hammer the spuds as they are my second most hated club after the red scouse robbers.
