West Ham away memories?

First time going West Ham next Saturday can't wait. What boozer do most blues go before the game? Will be in london for 2. Cheers

1987 relegation game , the scenes on the pitch at the end im sure w ham sung ur the pride of Manchester to the City fans?
Meanwhile I was in their main stand looking pissed off , Hammers walking past sussed it and said don't worry lad you will be back !!

First game under Sven and it remains my favourite ever away game. We'd just signed a load of class players, we gave them a good hiding, the new white third kit was on display, it was about 30c and the atmosphere was incredible. I don't think I'll ever again enjoy a game as much as that one. It was poetry.

Two contrasting memories. Going down there in the mid-1970's and finding the ICF in our end and the coppers quite happy to let them get on with it. We left before the game even kicked off.

The first game under Sven in 2007. It was baking hot and MOTD2 rang me to do a feature. They wanted to interview me before and after the game but the crew didn't get there in time to do the 'before'. So we did both afterwards. I had to pretend the game hadn't taken place and said that I thought it would take a few games to gel and we'd be happy with a point. Then they turned the camera round to show a different background and I said how delighted I was with the 2-0 win.

More recent 0-0 when Nery Castillo made his debut and looked like the player we had needed for so long then dislocated his shoulder and went off to the Ukraine or wherever after that. Think we should have had a penalty but was a dire affair. Couldve been the FA Cup, can't recall now, was a full stand of blues though and a decent atmosphere.
Think I was at that game too.was on front row behind Robert greens goal and gave him a dogs life.he was never the same keeper again after that game.

First time I went we took the lead I think & Spencer Prior scored but we got turned over in the end.
Second time DaMarcus Beasley (The guy who looked like he needed a good meal inside him!) bagged the winner.
Third time was the the best on the opening day of the season with a win thru Bianchi's opening goal & the Brazilian sub scoring the second & celebrating in front of the City faithful, happy days!

OP - I remember it as reddo actually being on his @rse whilst scoring the pen! Early 90's, our support was great that day, Peter Reid's blue and white army being banged out for ages and throughout half time. The pen was in last minute to win 2-1, going mental and then dawning that we had to make it back to the tube station..

We were really packed in that day. When the winner went in it was bedlam. I ended up about 50 yards away from where I started jumping up and down. Also saved the life of a young lady who fell to the floor during the celebrations and was getting crushed.
