West Ham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Wonder if the happy clapper prefects on here think Pep is entitled as well???
Let’s put this in context, he said we were excellent every time we lost.

Saying that now we are getting a bit of momentum with the results, we now need to get our all around performance together.

Moving forward.

Ps. No need to attack fellow Blues with that kind of language, you only incite a negative response.

The digging at those who post criticism on here is ridiculous. It's a post match thread; say what you think - just as if you were talking about it with your mates in the pub after the match. We don't all see it the same way.

If someone has a different opinion to you, SFW? Ignore it; laugh and poke fun at it; or argue about the opinion - not their right to express it.

Some of you want to sanitise the place too much and abolish any criticism of the team or Pep. If you're a happy clapper, just respond to the criticism - don't call for it to be silenced. It's a forum!
You were doing well until you just couldn’t help yourself.

Leave the childish language out and you won’t get any in return.

A game where the chances were converted and they missed most of theirs.

Savinho was a threat and is building up confidence.

Thought Akanji was fortunate to get a foul when dithering on the ball. Playing around at the back these days seems an error waiting to happen.

West Ham really missed Bowen. They will struggle whilst he is out injured.
They did. The loss of Valencia and him is a blow to them.

I thought that with Akanji too. Don’t think the West Ham manager was overly impressed with that either.

Akanji had one of those first season games today. I think he is a better player when we dominate. When we don’t he isn’t as good.

Two very important wins in six days. Great for morale and definitely improved going forward.
A multitude of sins still very evident at the back though. 18 shots to 8 in West Ham’s favour and so easy to play through it verged on the embarrassing at times. We were a mess defensively even before Gundogan and Walker came on. Some truly brainless passing in the last 20 mins and Gvardiol (again) matched Walker for positional ineptitude. Desperately need Stones and Dias back and properly fit
They had 17 shots with only 4 on target
We had 10 with 7 on target.
Both teams had 3 shots each blocked.
Anyone can shoot high, wide and handsome, but at days' end we made ours count.

Apologies if this has been covered, but I've scrolled through the last few pages and haven't seen it mentioned...

Can anyone in the East Stand confirm if KDB had words with some fans who were getting at Walker in the second half? It happened fairly late on, I think around the time Walker needlessly gave the ball away taking a free kick. KDB was definitely shouting something towards fans sat on that side, but I was too far away to make out what was said and the only thing I could think of was that it was in response to some abuse Walker was getting. Interested to know if anyone caught what he was saying.
I was wondering who he was shouting at. I don’t know for sure but I thought it might have been a ball boy who threw the ball to a West Ham player and KDB was wanting to slow things down.

We won. Surely 3pts is more important, at this moment of the season, than the performance?
When isn't 3 points more important than the performance? Ultimately it's always about the points, but generally it's good performances that deliver consistent points across a season.

Our performances have suffered for over 2 months, & so has our points tally during that period. Outside of one off cup games & outlier matches, say after a tough CL away match, performances matter. Both are mutually exclusive.

I don’t what exactly he was saying. But yes that’s the gist of it. He was waving his arms and shouting at some fans who’d shouted to Walker to f**k off out of club and retire.

2nd last post

A win is a win, best we can say, it was terrible apart from that! We haven't improved one bit, akanji looks even worse, even I've give up on walker, the midfield didn't make a tackle all game, kev can fuck off moaning at the support for groaning at giving another shit goal away,we had a bit of luck and the finishing of haaland that got us a win. Foden looked a pub team player again and barely finished a sitter, was shite and anyone who can run and be better than a piss poor west ham side will batter us. Rubbish.

What do you regard as childish language?

Your response appears to be a dig at me for being childish, which pretty much makes my point.
Your post was a reasonable one that people could debate, but then fell into childish name calling with the ‘Happy Clappers’. What do you expect to receive from fellow Blues in response?

They can see what we all see, and understand the challenges ahead.

I don’t agree or he would be there already. This gets mentioned a lot but we have no evidence of this at all and Pep sees him every day in training. He isn’t fit enough and when he starts he underwhelms.
I disagree. Since his second season I've been calling for Pep to move Grealish inside. He'd be a far better bet covering for Rodri, or as No8 than being marooned on the left, getting the ball giving us a twirl & then passing the ball back or to the side. He rarely shows the cutting edge needed to unpick a 10-man defence from the left wing.

FYI, I think that's the first time I've ever used the term you are apparently offended by, but it's a frequently used term on here; well understood; and, with all due respect, who are you to suddenly become the censor?

I'll keep it an "H.C. Free" zone in future, just for you, dear.

Depends where you want us to be.

Any team can scruff a win playing badly most of the time. Look at United.

If a team generally performs well, that team usually wins more games. We carry on with these performances and the fixures in February will look bleak at the end of them all.
Thanks for the advance warning - at least we'll all be prepared now you've sounded the bells of doom. We know we're not good right now - you posting about it every 30 minutes isn't making any difference.

Seriously? Your head needs a wobble.
Why. He's having a moan at the performance as well.
Seriously? Your head needs a wobble.
Why??

Pep also says the performance wasn't good.

We say the same and we get called miserable cunts, entitled etc etc... so I was just asking the question.

I'll leave it a couple of hours now if that's OK fella.
