West Ham Post Match Thread

I was just looking at the latest tables and, amazingly, we are actually the top scorers in the Premier League......even after our disastrous last few months.

Cos Chelsea park the bus and nick 1-0 wins.

I thought that Yaya put in a good performance overall (his interception lead to our second goal). Navas was a threat for most of the game but nearly gave them a goal with a stupid back pass - good job Joe was wide awake and kept a clean sheet. Zabba was much better and Mangala and Fernando did their jobs without too much fuss.
Still concerned about some of the sloppy passing out of defence. Although it must have been difficult to concentrate as West Ham were abject usually going back to their own half when they got into our danger area.
Great goal from Sergio. MP should take note that it came from a fast counter attack rather than the usual approach of slow, slow, slow, slow pass routine.
I don't agree with MP that the elbow into David's face was an accident - it was premeditated (even the commentators thought the ref should have got a red card out for that).
Edin is such a lazy buggar. On one occasion he was pushed a bit wide in the penalty area, the defender got his foot to the ball which rolled towards the dead ball line; Edin just stood and watched the defender chase the ball and keep it in play. I bet Pozo would have chased after the ball, young, enthusiastic and keen to contribute.

City completely baffle me at the moment. The success of CFA is absolutely crucial to the future prospects of our club. It's critical. But yet again there is no faith shown in youth. Why bring fucking Dzeko on for the 9 minutes of stoppage time instead of Pozo. Just... why?? It is really annoying. We will lose every top young talent we have at this rate. Can somebody at the club please make an attempt to demonstrate that we actually give a fuck about them??

But apart from that, what a great relief to win a game of football!!

Pretty much In a nutshell.
One moment of magic for our second, but otherwise more of the same.

We do not look fit especially as the game wears on, other teams still keep going whilst we look shattered.

And Pellegrini excusing the elbow on Silva just sums him up for me. No wonder we get next to nothing from officials.

Only seen the slo-mo replay once but it doesn't look deliberate too me. I think the lads trying to get his arm up and over Silvas head and catches him on the way down.

I dont think it was deliberate, but I did think it was reckless. Players get away with these elbow incidents because they argue they weren't looking at their opponenent, didnt deliberately aim an elbow at them, therefore it was an accident. But if a tall player runs around with his elbows flailing, or regularly jumps for headers with his elbows outstretched, there's a high probability that he's going to catch and injure opponents,
