West Ham - Post match thread

Excellent performance tonight, and Guardiola was vindicated with some big calls. Plenty of reasons to be positive, and that front three are only going to get better and better.

Pep: "The gap is too big, just Chelsea can lose the Premier League. But we'll fight until the last day to qualify for the Champions League."

10 points.... surely a team has blown as big a lead given that it's what, the beginning of February?

Man City: Caballero (7), Sagna (7), Kolarov (7), Stones (8), Otamendi (7), Sterling (9), De Bruyne (9), Silva (9), Toure (8), Jesus (9), Sane (9)

Skysports ratings and, for once, it looks like they were impressed.

When we bought Sane, we forgot to flip his switch from Demo mode to Full mode. Sorted now. What a player. His height gives him an advantage as well.

A 19 yr old in a new country and at a new club, it was always going to take time and patience.
Just some modern day fans don't have that.
That's not a dig at your post, by the way. Just a dig at those that were calling him shit after
2 games.

That front five of Silva, De Bruyne, Sane, Sterling and Jesus was just unplayable tonight. West Ham let us play and didn't put pressure on the ball but I don't think anyone could have stopped us the way we played in fairness.

Sane just plays like someone has created him as a player on FIFA, it should be impossible to be that big, strong, quick and have such incredible technique.
How was the 6th guy? What's his name, I forget now :p

Great performance. Looked a lot more comfortable at the back with Willy in net. Looked like he was actually communicating with his defenders.

Front 3 as special and were quality tonight. Full of pace and running. Sane MOM for me.

Such fine margins in football, Score a penalty against Everton at home, KDB scores instead of hitting the bar against Spurs and a draw at home to Chelsea and we would be 5 points better off while Chelsea 2 points worse off.

A 7 point swing and the table would be so different.

its good tonight but we are still not right and we can play better but the speed of the front 3 is what scares the shit out of the other city going forward are going to ripped teams apart but not all teams will respect us like west ham tonight and in tight games we will need a bigger midfield and defence the keeper is key to a settled defence and we need to work hard on keeping clean sheets like tonight

i can see light at the end of the tunnel and the future looks good but we must not go over board about tonight the swansea game will be alot harder and a bigger game for me we can not play like we have been at home and give the other team a chance we must take our chances and kill the game off then work from there

PS

big shout out to stones and Otamendi to keep Carroll quite and he never got a sniff he is a big lump and so good in the air at freekicks and corners but we stood strong

Sane just plays like someone has created him as a player on FIFA, it should be impossible to be that big, strong, quick and have such incredible technique.

There is a bloke at Real Madrid who is big , strong , quick and got an incredible technique.
If Sane turns out to be anywhere near as good as him , we're in for something special.

well done to all the city fans there tonight. manchester to london on a wednesday night and a away last weekend. Top fans !

Class. What do we do with Kun? That trio is too good.
Sergio's scored 18 in 24 for Pep. Don't lose sight of the fact that the average age of the front three tonight is 20. KDB is 24/25 - talking about young players !! Sergio is still our main man - the player who will go toe-to-toe with the Bayerns, Barcas and the two Madrids. He's 28 and in his prime. You can play expansive against West Ham, but you can't do that against the big four in Europe.

Rather enjoyable evening.

Obviously lots of plaudits for Sane and Jesus, great performances from the young lads.

Personally I just have to single out Dave again, I thought he was absolutely magnificent and his ball retention just made it so easy for the rest of the team.

Also big shout to Stones who for once just concentrated on good old fashioned defending, and consequently looked like a much better player.

....oh, and the ref was a joke again for a change, just allowed them to try and bully us, pathetic.

Superb performance first half. Front 3 look amazing, fluid, pace and clinical finishing.

Just a shame we so far behind the chavs, but lets keep this form going and go all for second and a cup win

Sane as others have mentioned is absolute quality, so much pace and I am confident he will be a real star at City.

Digressing slightly just heard Nevin on 5 live just state the city side that played today would not trouble the top sides as it is too open with Yaya on his own in midfield. Is that right you fucking bellend, seem to recall Yaya on his own against Spuds and we battered them and were cheated out of victory because of apalling officiating
