West Ham - Post match thread

West Ham are no muppets. They won their last 2 outings in the Prem and they've some decent results against top teams; a solid mid table team.

The ref let a few too many things go for my liking, and lost control a little. Clogger Carrol should have seen Red for violent conduct. Hopefully it won't be in the referees report and he'll get a retrospective. Doubt it though.

Back to our performance, absolutely amazing. Lightning fast going forward, hungry for the ball and incisive at the right moment. We were pretty solid at the back also. Stones had a good game, and Otamendi was a rock. Big Willy did nothing wrong between the sticks, and the back line seemed to feed off his confidence.

We've got options on the bench, and competition for places all over the pitch. Maybe not so much fullbacks, but we may be able to bring on the youngsters alongside the experienced players.

The future isn't looking too shabby.

The referee was a disgrace yet again, Carroll got away with a multitude of challenges and only got booked near the end of the game.

Fantastic performance going forward.
We wont be able to play all 3 in every match I don't think, in certain games it would be ill advised.
I think Aguerro will be back in when we go 4-5-1 particularly in tough away games.
I like the fact we can go horses for courses and Pep has sufficient quality in the squad to play alternate systems.
We still need to resolve the full back positions to match Peps expectations which I think we will do in Summer.
Nevins comments are strange in the fact we played this forward system (briefly against Spurs admittedly) in our last 3 games and looked Very Good, Good & Exceptional. Does he really think we'd go up against Arsenal at the Emirates or Chelsea at Stamford Bridge the same way, talking bollox.
Has the League gone? I expect so we've not shown sufficient consistency so far and Chelsea don't look like they are about to throw it away. A couple of defeats against Arse or others and they might wobble we just have to be in prime position to take advantage if they do.
See how we set up and play against the Swans who are much improved.

This^ Am getting tired of the notion we were 'good' because wham were shit. Yet before the match TV pundits, radio pundits, the papers and even on bluemoon were saying wham were coming into form and that we'd find it hard to contend with Snodgrass and Carrol. Well, I didn't notice Snotgrass doing ANYTHING to make me clench my arse cheeks. As for Carrol. Willy and our back line had him well and truly snuffed! That's why he resulted to dirty tactics... Yes, wham were shit. But that's more to do with our superiority, not their inadequacies!

this 'we're so hrad done by' attitude some fans have is pathetic. We were awesome last night, try actually reading the papers this morning - they are full of praise for City and whole articles dedicated to Jesus alone saying how awesome he looks and yet people still moaning about poor old city, the press hate us etc....its boring and a small club mentality frankly. Maybe we should just enjoy the win and get excited about the potential it looks like we have in this team.

"Small club mentality" is actually a load of Bollocks EVERY club fans think the same! Even Madrid Barcelona and the scum.

Only City get this kind of coverage. Win 4-0.... "they are a tactical mess".

Yeah, because Pat fucking Nevin is qualified to analyse Pep Guardiola's tactics...

So what were his thoughts when played Spurs off the park with near enough the same team?
