Spurs and Forest we only had three days rest, the better performances, ie Brighton, Wolves, Fulham we had FIVE days rest, so fingers crossed for Sunday. The sole worry I have for this game is that the players want to put a top performance in for Moyes and manage to do that for his last game. If he was there next season and it was business as usual i'd have zero concerns based on their form. But you're right they do have a decent side and the Moyes situation is the other factor at play.
Suppose there's an argument that the players have failed to play for him plenty of times this season but we'll not know until Sunday how much they're wanting/capable of putting into one single game.
As I've said before, if both teams play their best we win this comfortably. If we're off it even to the extent we were on Wednesday night, it's touch and go. We've had some excellent displays of late (Fulham, Wolves, rags) but some perhaps questionable ones and if not meaning necessarily poor or without reason, at least below our usual standard (Spurs, Forest)
A big performance from us would be magic and see us over the line. Energy and smother them in and around their own area from the get go please.
its one game technically as ortega would have started the cup final and ortega is one hell of a backup , its essentially a case of leaving the ferrari at home and taking the lamborghini insteadfuckity fuck
Yes this is one area we don’t need to start worrying about. The number 2 would be number 1 at most clubs.its one game technically as ortega would have started the cup final and ortega is one hell of a backup , its essentially a case of leaving the ferrari at home and taking the lamborghini instead
As long as he stays fit for the 2 games. I'd be rather less confident with Carson playing!Yes this is one area we don’t need to start worrying about. The number 2 would be number 1 at most clubs.
Simply put West Ham will turn up much in the same vein as any mid season fixture. They will be motivated but not excessively so as this is not an important season defining fixture for them. They will be combative, particularly early on but will not be doing an impersonation of someone fighting for their life. If we are slow to move the ball and sloppy in our passing they are capable of establishing a foothold in the game and causing us problems. I would suggest we move quickly through the gears early doors and start putting them under pressure. I feel certain a breakthrough will occur if we play with tempo and determination and avoid silly mistakes. If Stevie G alone could make his players score two against us then he's a better manager than many gave him credit for (in which case why did they finish mid table). Brighton didn't have anything to play for and we also went 1-0 down against them as well on the final day.
No, we were the architects of our own undoing on all occasions. It's a nasty habit and it's got to stop! More like 2014, please!
If we score early we'll score often, it's if the game stays scoreless pressure builds and mistakes happen.Simply put West Ham will turn up much in the same vein as any mid season fixture.
