Doubt it is true , they need to have a go and anything is possible , we have dropped points to worse teams than them
Don't they play the 2 legged conference league ties in the same weeks as we play Real Madrid
West Ham dont have a squad of 50 galaticos like City.

Again, the difference is they are playing the team in first that rarely ever drops points at home and even less frequently during title run-ins.

It makes no sense to go all out to get three points against the best team in the country at the expense of their squad fitness for their European fixtures and remaining much more manageable league games.

We are talking about what is best for West Ham. This is where good strategy keeps you up or poor strategy takes you down (and out of Europe), and going all-in for three points at the Etihad in this scenario, given all of the variables, is just batshite crazy strategy.
Moyes is always cautious. He will pack the defence and midfield and hope to catch us on the break or at a set piece. This is how all his teams have played. It is usually a recipe which achieves mid-table sometimes pushing for the top eight but they haven't performed as well this year, perhaps because of all the games in Europe. Personally I think they can pose us problems so we will have to be careful.

Bowen & Antonio are a threat (if they play) but compared to last seasons away tie, we don't have a one legged Laporte & Zinchenko on the left side of defence

Agreed. But that is a completely different discussion to the one I was having with @Keeper!. We are talking about whether Moyes would target getting the three points they likely still need to make sure they stay up against City.

And I maintain that not even Moyes is stupid enough to go all out against us, potentially comprising his squad’s fitness in the much more manageable (and important) games to come.

City. Then utd & Brentford in between the ucl semi-final ties, could be a huge risk going into the last 2 games needing 3 points if they target the semis & get beat

He doesn't have to go all out against us, he'll just stick everyone behind the ball, and hope for a lucky break
