Wet Sham V Millwall - Major aggro

I agree but these lads openly mocked stewards and cops etc who are in place to stop this kind of thing...IMO the cops who pulled batons out last night were fully justified.

Yeh, the problem is though, the British government are too soft. Like when there were those protests back in April and a fella died after being shoved to the ground by a copper. The police are now more frightened to use batons etc. because the press and government would be straigght onto that copper if one of the yobs died for example. Stupid really. The police are there for a reason and surely they know when to use force, last night was obviously one of those occasions.

Both clubs should be suspended from football for a year or two. After the clubs serve their suspension they should be in the bottom league. What did that prove besides their igorance? Not like they were rioting for freedom or anything worthy. Should of at the least cancelled the game and kicked both out of Carling Cup.

to be fair though there's a huge difference between a protester and a Hooligan.

that copper overstepped the mark and then some under govt order(its a worldwide thing the cops battering anti globalisation protesters).

However anyone in that stadium from either team and I dont care how its denied by them, knew there was going to be a huge ruck at that game.I'm sure tons of genuine west ham fans opted to stay at home.

anyone else there knew the risk, and deserved anything they got from the coppers...and from the footage I saw no one the cops were clubbing looked like an innocent by-stander.

How would you feel if that fella was your Dad on his way home from work. Bad analogy mate.

What, causing trouble at footy? That's what I mean mate. The coppers should have no hesitation using force when it is needed like last night.

I think some people need to calm down. calling for the clubs to have these massive year long suspensions and massive points cut. ridiculous. I agree there is no call for it, but handing out fan bans to the ones responsible (it's all on film) is the first place to start...

I didn't see any hesitation outside the pub when the riot police were wadding in with there batons. Or any complaints from the fans.

The tactics used in the g8 protests were straight out of the 'how to deal with footy mobs' police handbook.

Ridiculous overreaction
