Nice one I agree.As good as some of the music suggested is, I suspect some haven't read the thread title.
Iirc you used to be able to buy an LP for a quid from KTEL or something titled “Best Movie Themes” by Idris Knobrot and his Orchestra.

A better effort. Good as Ipcress is, it's not as widely known. Instantly recognisable as John Barry though.
The two John's: Barry and Williams account for a lot of famous, easily identified scores.

The westerns must be in with a shout. E.g. Gunfight at OK Corral, High Noon, 3.10 to Yuma, Green leaves of summer - The Alamo, etc. Frankie Laine did the vocal soundtracks for 1st 3 and the Geoff Love Orchestra did a good LP of western music (including those mentioned and spaghetti westerns too).
