What a great picture

I always remember a story that Frank watched the 1933 FA Cup Final as a spectator at Wembley.
And 12 months later he was actually in the City team as goalkeeper for the 1934 FA Cup Final.
I've tried to find confirmation online about this story, but can't find anything.
Does anyone know where I can find anything to confirm it as being a true story??
Yes, this is quite true according to Gary James. It cost Frank all of 2/6d (12 and a half p) to get in.
If you key in: "Frank Swift: a tribute by Gary James - Bluemoon - MCFC" then you will see this.

He went down to Wembley on his motor bike. Rode through the night from Fleetwood where he and his brother had a fishing boat I think. Down the old A6, no motorways of course. I had a footie book as a kid with this story and artist's illustrations in it. Last drawing was of him lying on the pitch after fainting in the goalmouth at the end of the Cup Final v Portsmouth the next year.

Cheers pal, much appreciated for your reply. I was going to pm Gary to see if he could confirm the story about Frank, but you've saved me the trouble.

Thanks for this reply to my post.
I forgot that Frank fainted at the end of the 1934 Cup Final, that is all part of his legendary status as a City keeper.
And certain know fuck all fans and media types claim that City have no history !!!
They really are cretinous fuck wits !!

Frank looking very natty in that photo. Could have auditioned for the role of Luca Changretta in Peaky Blinders.
When stupid morons (not many, thankfully) make fun of the Munich disaster and think they're being big blues, they seem to forget, if they ever knew, that Swifty died in that. And a certain former mate of his at City, a Scot who happened to manage United, very nearly lost his life.
