Can't beat an ice cold bottle of Desperado's......beautiful

Not many places sell it but it's brilliant, goes down very nicely.

Urge anyone to give them a go, only supermarket that sells it is Morrison's but its pricey at £3.99 for 3?

oh dear - I've got a few of them in my beer fridge - need to start on something else before you get to them (5.9%) ... so what to choose ... well my current favourite is this stuff

Absolutely blows all that German Lager out of the water for taste!

Despite outselling San Miguel in Spain, the only major retailer you can get it from in the UK is Ocado (not from Waitrose Stores either, just online delivered)

Happily though The Bottle Stop on Acre Lane in Bramhall will sell you a crate of 24 for £30 ;-)

peroni - but nowhere near me does it on draught

stella is everywhere, but the best pint i've had of it is at the king's arm's not far from me (although it is £3.20 a pint)

i've been drinking tennent's tonight as it's just been installed on draught in my local

it's a bit weak to be honest, but i have to get up early tomorrow.

modelo, corona, peroni and stella for me! Although i am rather partial to cider, brothers pear 7%, gaymers and thatchers katy for me please! Mmm

sorry to expose it, but Corona is the biggest marketing con ever in the history of beer production, but I guess someone has to drink it since it's the most popular import beer these days, which leaves:-

anything by Becks (but especially Dark) for me

with Boddingtons, Guinness, and Bass from our shores as the always 'almost ever-presents', plus numerous hundreds of other micro-brewed and local beers (I'm not a big lager guy) that I've enjoyed and would drink without problem.. there are so many out there why confine yourself to just a few?

the BEST ever beer I've ever had was an ultra-micro brewed Scottish Ale made by a friend of mine who is going into commercial production shortly. The great irony was that being American he didn't at first have the taste buds or familiarity to appreciate what he'd just gone and made, ah a haha; leaving me the majority of this first brew! It was 'too strong tasting' for him.

I hate to say that now he's got a more developed palate for the top-fermenting brews and hop complexes, and I shall not be benefiting from his acquired tastes any longer, ehehe. The Belgium lace on that Scottish Ale after you drank it was incredible, and it was bottled 'live' without any additives or carbonation - a true real ale... simply phenomenal. I have just three of them left, for a special occasion; and unlike many commercial beers these will improve with a little age.

Cheers!

I'm back to Munich In December.Any other beers you can recommend?

i prefer northern german beers, but if you are in Munich, try something from "Augustiner"

I seem to remember Bitburger being a lovely drink in Berlin.I quite enjoyed Warsteiner as well. The ale in the Hobfrahaus in Munchen is lovely as well.

Orkney Dark Island - my absolute all-time favourite but very closely followed by:
Jennings Snecklifter
Theakstons Old Peculiar
Black Sheep Riggwelter
Dent Owd Tup
and
Robbys Old Tom
and John Willies Moonraker at the falling over quickly end of the market
but delighted to find:
Sir Joseph Holts Mild & Bitter, Brains Dark Mild, Shropshire Lad, Bluebird, Aviator, Feeling Foul Double Dragon, ESB (and Fullers Winter Warmer), Yewbarrow, Schiehallion, Brodies Prime, Doris's 90th, Summer Lightning, Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby, anything by Kelham Island/ Marble Stout, anything by Oakham, anything else by Orkney, most stuff from Phoenix especially Wobby Bob, Darkn Side of the Moose, anything by RCH, anything from St Austell, Shropshire Gold, Sam Smiths OBB cos its dirt cheap and can be well decent, Timmy Taylors Dark Mild, anything from Titanic, Traquair Jacobite although they don't like selling it to Sassenachs.., 6X if its well looked after, Weetwood Old Dog, All seasons, Wickwar Station Porter, owt from Woodfordes

Failing that then I'll have to settle for summat else I suppose but not that tasteless fizzy stuff they call lager. Yes there are some good lagers out there especially on the continent where it's easier to find a decent pillsner but most of the mass market stuff here is just piss and so I'll go for Guinness in a crisis situation where there are no real ales and no decent bottled belgian beers to be had.
you need serious help from AA (not the motoring organisation) Balti, have you ever done ^^^^ in one night. If you have pm me,we could have a good night out ;)

All of 'em in one night lol
In a year maybe! ;-)

Tribute from St Austell Brewery is my beverage of choice, although I wouldn't say pass up on the chance of any of these:

Hobgoblin, Black Wych, Wychcraft, Lancaster Bomber, Bluebird, Proper Job, Copper Dragon and Black Sheep
