IMO John Fogerty is one of the best songwriters of his time... in 1969 CCR were the biggest band in the world... until he got jaded by fame... fell out with the band, fucked off and went solo... The solo stuff is pretty good too notably "Centrefield" (a Baseball song!) and "Rockin' All Over The World" (Yes he wrote it!)
