Nice tune and also must get the book.Singer was Mark Hodkinson who wrote a great book called Last Mad Surge of Youth.
"In his Autumn 'fore the Winter
Comes Mans' last mad surge of youth' is the spoken sample at the start of The Chameleons' 'Don't Fall'. Also being from Middleton, seems more than a coincidence?

A band who, imo, were hugely underrated...kinda proggy, but not really....Their Album The Dark Third is fantastic...tbf, their later albums dont quite compare although still good.
Pure Reason Revolution.....this track has an obvious nod to Pink Floyd with its song title, The Bright Ambassadors of Morning. Its long, but fantastic....
