I’ll take that as a compliment, even though it wasn’t intended as one ;-)You sound like the Programme Controller at Greatest Hits Radio
The programme has been dumbed down hugely and many loyal listeners have bailed due to the predictable music choices.
The show is currently aired at a niche timeslot (0600 Sat) so it's not like there will be that many live listeners to lose.
There are several excellent presenters on Local and Community stations who do this sort of thing much better than Tony Blackburn and I listen to a good selection of them but many can't be arsed to scour the world of Internet Radio to find those shows.
Yes, excellent points. I too would love to see it back at 8-10am, and I used to love the ‘new’ tracks I heard on his show. I also have similar frustrations with other genres; their playlists for 70s rock and 90s dance for example are also far too safe. So I do know exactly what you’re getting at.
I suppose they would argue they can’t/shouldn’t be as niche in their track selection as the likes of you and I would want as most listeners don’t want selections that go that deep and most are casual listeners.
