What are you listening to.................RIGHT NOW!!!

Scorpions live 16/01/1978 Musicladen, with the fantastic Uli Jon Roth on guitar, awesome stuff:

Plus We'll Burn The Sky with the lyrics being the poem written by Monika Dannemann the girlfriend of Jimi Hendrix when he died, about his death:

Channelling Dio-era Rainbow very heavily on that first track! Close my eyes & it sounds very like them - which isn’t necessarily a bad thing ;-)

The Dio fronted Rainbow were absolutely fantastic. Luckily I got to see them in 1977 at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, when Ritchie disappeared from the stage and ended up in one of the boxes where he trashed his strat and caused damage to the ornate plasterwork with some falling off. They were barred from playing there again, and when I saw the Las Vegas Rainbow caberet act in 1983 again in Liverpool it was at the Royal Court Theatre which was nowhere near as good as the Empire.

If they’d have added Down In The Sewer that wouldn’t have been far off the perfect set list for me. Their first 2 albums were their most enjoyable and best imho. Songs like Grip are just stone cold classics.
I agree. DITS is a cracking track. Although Baz Warne is a good front man he isn't Hugh Cornwell and I've not seen The Stranglers since he left. I'm tempted to go and see them at The Apollo in March but since Dave Greenfield and Jet Black are no longer alive it'll be almost like a cover band with only JJ Burnell left.
