If you live in the North East and follow music you will know how influential Dave Stewart - Dire straits - Chris Rea, Sting etc etc have been but honestly I am a FoC and I talk to kids about music and you can never underestimate the the influence Lindisfarne had at the ground roots of music here - I met James Arthur for a fleeting moment in Redcar a few years ago ( he got decked by a sucker punch later but thats another story ) and whan I asked him who was his biggest influence he said Alan Hull .....

Honestly my kids did degree's in Musical theatre and TV and radio production I was Dads taxi and picking them up and dropping them off etc - bear in mind we are Teesside - they all knew about Lindisfarne - the songs and Alan Hull - I am not from here but I was surprised how much it had leeched into their knowledge - my lads mate did a whole Alan Hull set to get a good qualification lol.
