Urban mythe has it, that after a gig sometime in the 1970's, at the Freetrade Hall (I think) Brian Ferry et all, tried to gain entry to Pips night club after the show.

They were refused entry as he was wearing jeans, I think Jimmy Wag off the radio Manchester might have told the story.

I used to love the Bowie and Roxy room in there it was great.
