Love songs , especially the 80's/early 90's stuff are so farcical/artificial sounding , labellin em as 'cheesy' would actually be doing em a favour.
Boy/Girl bands made a mockery of the word 'love' , bordering on the criminal with their fake emotional music videos.
With any love song from any genre , it should at least sound sincere. The singer becomes irrelevant and the music fills you with what you are supposed to feel with songs like that , Love , pain , warmth, longing etc etc.
Don't know much-Linda Ronstadt /Aaron Neville duet; Belongs to the few gems that sound so sincere that you actually think they are so much in love. Beautiful song , emotionally delivered , ,makes me miss my girl every time I hear it ,even makes me borderline cry sometimes when i am pissed. The video is as beautiful as the song. A lesson on how a real love song should sound like.
