What City player was most over rated by our own fans

Daniel Sturridge

Never got him when he was here and still don't get him now. All the lads I sit with raved over him. I put that down to wishful thinking because he came through the acadamy.

How he's got to play for England i'll never know.

He's alright, I dont remember much about what was said of him whilst he was still here. The 6 decent months he had at Chelsea was when everyone was saying we should never have let him go etc and that he's good.

He is a quality player on his day, definitely the most technically gifted player to come out of the academy in the past 15 years.

add zabaleta to the list.

M. Johnson
A. Johnson
C. Tevez
G. Kinkladze.
Paul Lake.
Zabaleta? Tevez? WTF

Don't really think Adam Johnson was rated on here that much and the other Johnson had great potential until his injuries ruined his career.

Some of these names being mentioned are totally mind boggling. Players like the goat, kinkladze and dunney were very good players in a poor squad. The joy they gave us back when we struggling was inmeasurable. As for Bellamy, I bet you can't put hand on heart and say you didn't get off your seat when he was running with the ball towards the penalty box.

kinkladze and tevez are in our top 5 best players of the past 30 years, cannot believe some of these answers.

must be fishing.

Adam Johnson, truly a one trick pony who goes missing when the shit hits the fan same goes for Elano the lazy twat

Balotelli. Still waiting on him morphing into the new Zlatgod or fat Ronaldo.

100% agree. Got sick of all the hype and talking around him, because when he stepped on the field, he rarely had a good game for us. Flattered to deceive so many times and was one of the most frustrating playes i have ever seen in a City shirt.

I did love him for the pass to Aguero v QPR though, but after all... he probably cost us about 10 points throughout the season anyway.

Zabaleta. Love him but he's not as good as some on here make out.

Clueless. Nothing more needs to be said.

You could be the undisputed best player of all time and still be overrated by some people. It's all relative. I've seen comments on here along the lines of "Kinky possessed just as much natural abilty as Messi". Point proven.

The answer to this question is Dickov imo and I don't think it's all that close. Special mentions to De Jong and Bellamy who were also elevated massively about their true status.

Bertie. Fans was saying he was the next beckham , messi maybe but never in a million years be as good as beckham.

I massively over rated all of these players. At one point I believed they were going to carry us through for years to come as they all appeared from the academy at pretty much the same time

Stephen Jordan
Nedum Onuoha (Oh how I wish he'd played against CR7 every week)
Ishmael Miller
Lee Croft
Willo Flood
BWP
Joey Barton
Michael Johnson
Stephen Ireland

I know. By the way, I'd have staked my life on old Mr 6one being a newbie with less than 100 posts, so I went back and checked, and sure enough! 3 letter word, begins with 'r', ends in 'g'.......

Gotta be Ireland, became a cult figure in his one good year, took another 2-3 years of City & Villa failure for us to realise he really was just an average player.
