What did the fans sound like on the TV last night?

they were shouting rejects ... to be fair to them their bottem left corner made a fair bit of noise ... our fans were boring as, only a handful seemed alive

so if ade would of scored or barry, none of there songs would of really took off?

ahaha doubt it ... was a group of around 7-8 of us that tried them ... no luck, seemed a lot of cockney blues were there a fair few usual faces missing

Anyone who watched it on TV will not have experienced the fact that it was palace fans who sang throughout the entire match, and that the city fans didn't sing (well very very little which could not be heard until they scored).

Shame that the city morons who ran onto the pitch were not ejected and banned for life, which should've been what happened.

poor atmosphere, seemed noone wanted to sing which was not for lack of trying, still was a good laugh and some decent banter

You're kidding... I've lost my voice...right down at the front where there was a shemale steward with long hair...Anyone see "that"? ...copped a load of flack of the city boys... lol

It was pretty quiet but Palace away on Thursday night in the Carling cup isn't exactly our biggest game anymore. Seems a lot of the time these days everyone's vocal in the pubs and they reach the ground and keep quiet and our best songs don't make it into the grounds. Having said that our southern support doesn't always seem too keen on having a sing-song.

It's easy for Palace to say our support was shit but I doubt they made as much noise in the previous round. And they weren't close to selling their tickets.

I reckon City had about 1500 last night. The stand went back 40 odd rows with about 50 seats to a row across the two blocks. Being on sky probably knocks a good 50% of our support for games like this.

agree with all of this ... however i dont think palace fans were very good either (admittadly a few in the corner seemed to sing a bit, other than that there was nothing... however im sure anyone amongst them will be declaring they have the best atmosphere in britain), boring lower-league chants and got the impression a fair few liked the rags ... very amateur and a cringeworthy banner prepared for us aswell just confirming their lower-league status and the fact this was in fact their cup final ;-) just glad we did the business really and won, roll on pompey.

What was the european style shouting you could hear every time a City player passed a ball in the first half? Sounded really loud.

oooooooooooaaaaaah REJECTS.

Thought your fans were very good last night. Credit where credits due. City were quieter than normal, but a good attendance for a Thursday night down south and not being arrogant but we are a bigger team, in a higher league so fans expectations and the way they approach that game will be clearly different. I'm sure if you'd been playing Bury your attendance and noise would have been much lower?
