What Did We Think Of Our Midfield Today? A Lot Going On?

Am I the only one who was unimpressed with Nico O'Reilly yesterday - especially the first half, all I could see was him doing a creditable David Batty impression - he had literally NO idea how to pass forward FFS

And as for the Incomplete Pass Percentage???? Yesterday's was ridiculously bad.

This has got to be one of the strangest takes from yesterday. I thought he was brilliant and over the last few months has made the left back spot his

I'm just calling out what I saw in the first half from Block 101 - I had to keep apologising to the lady sat next to me over my effing and jeffing at him. Football is an opinions game from the stands (and from the officials positions too it would seem ;-) )

I was in 211 or 111 as its now called and thought he played well first half. I take your point in him struggling a little for the forward pass as Doku had drifted inside quite a lot so his only real option for a pass was Nico G or Bernardo inside

Thought the midfield was very fluid yesterday with lots of players interchanging positions. It helped that Bournemouth weren't camped inside their own penalty area as that gave Haarland plenty of space to run into.

Carrick paid our midfield a lot of compliments in his MOTD analysis tonight. Good to hear and an interesting listen for once on there. Compare and contrast with Micah's infantile waffle.
I saw that this morning and thought much the same. The other I noticed, unless I missed it was that Chapman didn't ask Rob Green whether he thought Don Corlerumma was fouled or not!

He was my MotM although the other Nico was a strong contender. Nunes and Foden not far behind. Bernie not quite a contender but played a captain’s role. I just ignored Haaland this week.
Yeah, I'd agree with all of those. I'd also throw in both centre halves who were quietly efficient. Really solid from them.

There's a full replay of the game on the City website

You need to stay off the Disco Biscuits

A lad in the match thread said Foden was terrible for spatial awareness and passing, which edges it I reckon.
Yep that definitely edges it. Had a united fan tell me he was shit yesterday as he didn't score. It later transpired he hadn't actually watched the game. Its becoming more and more common for fans to get their opinions from social media these days
