What do we need?

What do we need to become a quality side challenging for the top four? Firstly we need a hell of a lot of look and a group of referees on our side. But what else? A new manager would be on the agenda, somebody who can attract big names and make them play well. I also think we need 4ish players in the following positions:
Right back instead of richards - we need a good attackive right back that hasn't got a touch like a donkey like bosingwa or glen johnson
Centre back instead of dunne - a good distributor of the ball that doesn't find it progreesive to just boot it upfield like carvalho
Centre mid - a dominant box to box player who can also create chances, such as gerrard. stevie seems to be getting to that stage though so a Xabi Alonso type player would be nice instead.
A big centre forward - your typical number 9. Santa would have suited us but fat sams a wanker, but we need somebody who can win a ball and hold it up so our fast players can play how they like.

CB and CF. We've got loads of midfielders and consequently Zab back to RB with Micah then fighting for his place.

Left midfielder who can get down the line and cross the ball, but who knows how to defend. A left footed SWP!!! Don't see the hard part being done by Robbo, and not sure Petrov has EVER been that kind of player. If we can stop teams attacking THAT weakness, we look a LOT more solid team with VK and NDJ in the heart of midfield, with speed on the break.

centre forward santa cruz would have been perfect
personally id like scolari as manager but i think i may be the only one...
also ireland is certainly becoming the box to box player he is everywhere on the field

Micah Richards is truly shocking though now, don't get me wrong he was fantastic last season and I was one of his biggest fans, and I'm not judging just because of a small bad patch he has been terrible all year and we are over half way through now. In my eyes the lad has got too much muscle, last year his pace got him out of shit but now he's lost that edge, more of an athlete now than a footballer, should be weightlifting.
Plus he cannot attack can he? Really? If you look at, bosingwa, glen johnson, sergio ramos, evra or ashley cole ( I know the last two were wrong position) they can all attack and defend adequately, it's like we know micah isn't going to produce anything when he is attacking down the right don't we. Sorry but the lad has to be removed or improved drastically.

true but in his defence what has changed to make him play so badly? i honestly think its a rough period. great player young and promising bit harsh to say get rid.
