What do you call the end slice of a loaf of bread?

I've always called it the crust and by far they are the best slices of bread from the whole loaf.

Heard some call it the heel?

For me the crust is what surrounds the whole loaf. The heel is the end piece.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary it is a term used by cunts so yes, by definition, it is an Americanism
