What do you do when you have four days off and don't go anyhere?

I am currently on holiday for 4 days. No plan even considered to go away and I will tell you why.

To me, there are pleasures in life that don't get the credit they deserve. .

Being in your house, alone all day. Free from the need to chat. To do anything you don't want to. You can get treats in, good food, watch what you want. I spat out in my garden after I put food out for my freeloading Pheasant, Golden Shoulders, a pair of Robins, finches, Blue Tits and a Woodpecker, I call Woody, I'm so left field. The smaller birds and Golden Shoulders arrived and I sat with a cup of coffee and a herbal rollup and it was magic.

My apple trees are flowering and looking fantastic and my cat is sitting beside my chair, eyes fixed on the birds feeding, but she stays put when the pheasant is there. She looks at me and makes, complaining meows. Pure ragin.

Its a bit chilly when the wind blows and today, its on a constant loop. No problem though, thats why wooly jumpers were invented. And I was esconsed in the expertly made; woollen said jumper and oblivious to that cunting wind.

I made a great lunch, put on a movie and am deciding what sweet treat to have with a cup of tea.

I will repeat a variation of today everyday and feel like I've made the right choice. I have only said a few words to the cat. She doesn't answer, or seek further clarification. Bliss. .

Whats you favourite way to spend a few days off.
Simple pleasures, that’s what life is all about

As a man who works 50 hours a week and has 2 kids under 6, getting a lie in and doing absolutely fuck all, sitting in silence, sounds bliss.
I have done that. Brilliant as it was, three sons only two years apart was like trying to herd cats. Any break then was worth its weight. Little bastards are hard work. They never fucking stop.

The OP was poetry and is complete bliss.

This is the only downside to home working for me. When I was office based I used to indulge in days like magicpole has portrayed. I loved nothing more than loading up on good food and wine, locking the door and having no contact with anyone for a few days.

It just isn’t the same when you are already at home where your work station is.

Think of being stuck in an office. That will make you enjoy it more.

I get 4 days off on my shift pattern. For as many years as I can remember Ive worked overtime on one of them, as 3 days is enough for me. Been stung as fuck with tax so it is no longer worth me doing it. Last couple of months have been the first time Ive had my full 4 days off and I have enjoyed it things have slowed down a bit. Shame that these cunts penalise those who would want to work extra mind you, but since they have I will use the extra time towards wellbeing

I agree. Having time to yourself, especially as you get older, is a precious choice to be savoured.

Normally catch up with my photo editing, archiving, back-ups, and do a deep clean of my kit and camera bags.

I do that every day. It would be criminal not to. Too many people depend on it for a boost to their day. It isn't easy having that, as well as gorgeous hair, on my shoulders.
The singular of hair is hair… just saying…
… but it’s only on your shoulder you say.

I work in Edinburgh, which seems to jam pack hordes of people all visiting. Its hustle and bustle and traffic and noise. To leave that behind and come out here is actually redemptive. When I moved out here at first, I wondered if I could cope with it. Now its could I cope without it. It is also the reason I don't have the need to get away as often, as I did as a city dweller.I have a longer journey to work. That's it. If you could see what I am looking at right now, Golden Shoulders is sitting on the bird feeding table. Its sunny, I'm looking onto hills, that journey is worth every second.
Pics mate :)

Thank you. We spend too much time looking forward to getting what we want. Spend more time enjoying what you have.

Just having a cold cider, no sound but birds. Sun warm om my back surrounded by apple trees and overlooked by a giant Scots Pine where our owl stays. It is all rather wonderful.

That sounds fucking bliss. I don't get loads of time off at work and we don't close between Christmas and New Year so I need to be careful with the days I have, but I've got a Thursday to Monday off in July when The Open's on. Hopefully the weather is as nice as this so I can find a beer garden with a TV screen and watch it in peace.

Even better today. No jumper required.
