What Do You Hate Most About Bluemoon

Only with the benefit of hindsight- at the time they were accepted as facts until until they were challenged by people who held different opinions.
"Facts" change as knowledge increases so there will be facts today that will be proved wrong in the future
I would say that something cannot be a fact until hindsight has proven it to be true. Everything up to that point is just anything from an opinion to a hypothesis.

OK but which hindsight?

A theory from 1900 could be proven fact in 2000 using all contemporary knowledge so it passes your hindsight test. In 2100 knowledge has moved on further so hindsight now proves it incorrect.
Facts are not quite as permanent as you might suppose

They were opinions that didn’t have proof yet, not facts.

Proof is never definitive. It's provisional. It was ‘proven’ in court that Timothy Evans was guilty of murdering his wife. On that basis he was executed by the state.

It is an incontrovertible fact that Erling Håland scored 36 goals in the 2022-23 English Premier League campaign, and that that, for the time being, is the record in a single season (of the EPL, mind).
What does that indicate? Now we're into interpretation…

That’s true and kind of proves my initial point.

You can amend a fact with greater evidence but you can’t change them with opinions.

People think they can oppose facts with opinions, and you cannot do that. You need the evidence to change a ‘fact’ and that’s not what a lot of people do in today’s world. Instead they use opinions with no evidence as opposition to facts.

Can you imagine if we've been wrong about DNA all this time, and it turns out we find there is no way to truly differentiate any sample from 1 to the other... They go, 'the chances of the semen belonging to somebody else on her knickers is 1:1,000,000,000' then in a hundred years it's more like 50-50
There's gonna be a lot of guys in prison very angry and think of the amount of miscarriages of justice

Dear Mr Joe.
This thread is entitled 'what do you hate about Bluemoon.' I have spoken to Ric and I can categorically assure you, neither Ric nor Bluemoon had anything to do with the discovery of DNA. Anyone who says otherwise will get a visit from the mods.

It indicates that I should have cashed out!
