I'm from Langley mate, I've stood and fought my ground growing up plenty. I'm 36 now though and have grown out of trying to come across as a hard ****. Bullies are shithouses, it's as simple as that.

Some of our lot did the window cleaning on Langley.

What with - sand paper?

Collection night was fun they said

The old ones are the best! :-) I was going to say that myself.

In its true form, bullying is a disgusting form of intimation and abuse. Usually carried out by shithouses who wouldn't have the bottle to start a row in empty room without a load of back up.

The trouble is, the word has become a catch all phrase for any sort of piss taking and fooling around, as well as more serious incidents.

Obviously the Rocky's on here would nip it in the bud by smashing fuck out of anyone who looked at them the wrong way but it can be a living nightmare for weaker people.

If the OP wants honest opinions on his actions, he'd have to be more specific about what form this bullying took.

Wow, some disappointing stuff on here.

I do a lot of work that involves investigating complaints of bullying and harassment.

Sometimes I uphold the complaint. sometimes I don't.

But I have seen victims of bullying have their lives ruined - we're not talking about people who can't take a minor joke, we're often talking about hard working, professional, resilient and conscientious people whose working lives, and subsequently their domestic lives, have been shot to pieces.

Couple of weeks ago I interviewed a senior manager who broke down in tears when he talked through how he had been treated - he wasn't soft, he wasn't a drama queen, it was simply that 18 months of having his working life made hell had got too much for him.

I think the OP has done exactly the right thing and it sounds like he got exactly the right result.

Only neanderthals believe that complaining about bullying is snitching.

Absolutely spot on Chabal.

Got my own story about bullying, but I was accused of it at work, absolute bullshit but because of who made the complaint, I was laid off. Wasn't bothered as I was leaving soon anyway, but was still laughable what happened.

Most workplace bullying isnt of the physical nature but often management demanding their staff do more than the can, more than they should and often more than the law allows, I have seen very good workers turn into introverts in a relatively short space of time due to the pressure they have been put under, and the effect this has on their morale and even mental health means that it is something that shouldnt be taken lightly.
I also know from personal experience, that if and when you stand up to this sort of bullying, the bully soon back down, or goes off to find someone else to try and push around, this is where a good TU rep with an interest, knowledge and willingness can make a lifetimes subs worthwhile.

I'm no legal expert, however I believe it gives you the right to kick them in the bollocks.

yes , yes it does.

I've never worked in an office but on building sites there are bullies too.......you have to grow bollocks not TELL on everyone.

You wouldn't last long if you did that. Fact of life I'm afraid.

Perhaps offices are different.
