What happened with Rio? (merged)

Re: What happened with Rio?

I can't condone what happened however if your going to provoke a few thousand angry football fans you must be prepared to get what is coming to you, like jumping into a Lions Den and complaining that the Lion attacked you, in the height of passion and anger people are not rational

Re: What happened with Rio?

There's no justification for throwing missiles, but it was a matter of time before this happened to a United player. They really have no humility and have celebrated infront of opposing fans all season, even when their own fans have been closer. I'm sorry but at some stage these ''professionals'' have to be adults and accept that under the circumstances their behavior is going to incite this element.

I sincerely hope the reaction to their third goal really irks our guy because they will drop points they're nothing special, we need to be snapping at their heals because the relief they showed illustrates their anxiety IMO.

Love the arguments from some. If you think he deserved it you are ok. If you think anyone throwing a coin at anyone is not on you must never have been to a derby. Laughable stuff.

I presume you have never been to a game as well with that comment
Derby game home and away, get it right not a chance on this earth have any of you two been a derby away.

Re: What happened with Rio?

Him and Rooney have themselves to blame they always come over giving it, you never see a City player do that at the swamp, just shows you who has class. Pair of twats.

Re: What happened with Rio?

I don't understand people defending this. Regardless of what he did. You just don't act that way.
We lost. It's football, someone had to lose. We weren't cheated out of it, there was nothing much controversial. We simply lost. We tried and we failed. It happens. We need to accept that and move on.

The lads played hard today, we lost, but the put up a big fight.
The fans are the ones who brought shame on us and humiliated the club. We're all painted with the same brush.

On a plus note, Joe Hart is turning more and more into a leader every time he takes to the pitch. He'll be a City captain in years to come. He mightn't have had his best day today but massive respect for him standing up to the thug. He's one of a few City players who give's 110% every time. We've watched him develop massively, he used to be a bit immature at times, but he's grown into such an important player for us, he's still a bit mad, but what keeper isn't. Massive respect for his actions today. City through and through.

Re: What happened with Rio?

I'm not condoning coin throwing, its wrong, but going up to and goading a few thousand angry football fans (who may have had a few beers), who have just seen their team concede a last minute winner, to the team they hate the most, in a highly charged, important game, isn't exactly the smartest thing to do. It's like baiting an angry dog, then complaining when it bites you.
