The Liverpool match was a classic trap game coming at the end of a closely spaced run of fixtures where we are obviously tired, emotionally drained, missing key players, and have nothing left in the tank. A draw at Anfield would have been a great result, but in hindsight we are not much worse off than before the match in the table and still have a game in hand versus our rivals. The issue is that we have lost three in row in the league and must turn this around immediately. I think if we can get some legs back we will do just that. We'll probably end up in the low 70s points wise, good enough for top 4, hopefully top 3. We really miss KDB and Silva must be carrying an injury as there no other way to explain the transformation from Merlin to Sorcerer's Apprentice. Have faith. We will not slide out of top 4!
Not having that as an excuse at all.
They also played on Sunday too, remember, so should be just as tired, and arguably more emotionally drained.
They missed Lucas, Sturridge, and Coutinho. Akin to us missing Silva, and Aguero, and whoever you believe to be Lucas' equivalent.
They started with Toure, and Lovren at the back - neither of them are their 1st choice CBs, so let's say for us that is Demi and Mangala.
We played last Wednesday, they played on Thursday. We both made a similar amount of changes for the game.
The energy shown by them was worlds ahead of ours.
