What has been your biggest ever waste of money

My TV, cost me £250. I have only ever watched one thing on it and that has been an England match. I watch all my TV on the internet or on the TV downstairs as this one doesn't have Sky sports.
 
My 2 brothers and I spent about £600 to get a whizzy new satellite system for my folks' 50th wedding anniversary. I was told they could see all the footy live, and all new movies just for that one-off payment. Turns out it's feckin useless unless you like Latvian balalaika music.
