What has caused the current volatility in the world

This all day long. Whatever else Keir Starmer has done wrong this time he has got it almost right. He is not following like a lapdog in Trump’s wake.
Trump, in my humble opinion, is doing the old magicians sleight of hand trick so that people forget or play down his part in the Epstein files.
As well as being a warmonger Trump is most definitely the four letter word that I read from you but cannot say. He is also a person without a father.
I am trying to be rational and calm but it is very, very hard.
Sorry.
A great point. Many, many of us demonstrated against Blair, who told us out right lies in order to start an illegal war.
Now folk are criticising Starmer for doing the very thing we wanted Blair to do!

Use football as an experiment and look at the way fans have acted over the century and a half of the sport…

Football was sprung on us out of nowhere but we reverted to our natural type as a species with it. Hooliganism started almost immediately, with tales of fans going around the country to fight rival hooligans from other clubs in the late 1800s (there was even an old woman arrested for hooliganism at a Preston game in the early 1900s).

We band together, act tribally under our banners and colours, and we are veciforous in our support for our side and despise our rivals. Violence was a result for many decades and still does occur; our tribes will come together and look to enact violence on our rivals.

Not just Association Football hooliganism but also take a look at the Ashbourne Royal Shrovetide football match, and rugby too, and see how naturally everyone involved acts.

Take that to different areas of life: political ideologies, religions, nations, races… it’s a natural thing for us to do as a species. Given the platform for it, we will always revert to type. We are a warring animal. We want to beat/kill our rivals and take what they’ve got. It is within us genetically.

There were once numerous species of humans dotted about Africa, Europe and Asia, yet there’s only us left. There have been Neanderthal skeletons found in Europe and Asia with fatal injuries and it’s no surprise to me that we are the only homo species left. We are a social animal and we will have banded together to outcompete and kill our competitors and see our branch of the species succeed. Since there’s oniy Sapiens left, we naturally look to do the same thing to our competitors now - which is other Sapiens.

If Islam enacted it’s core goal of taking over the entire world and forcefully converted everyone to Islam and killed everyone who refused; there would be splinter groups who go their own way, there’d be no harmony and there’d be wars amongst itself eventually.

If Communism - which has the same goal - did the same, the result would be exactly the same.

Even if the airy-fairy utopian dreamers of this world got everyone to hold hands and leave a tranquil life under their flowery delusions of peace, it wouldn’t take long for a group of people somewhere to want to disrupt that and take things for themselves and kill off those who oppose them.

At any level we are no different to ants or plants. We are here to outcompete our rivals.
Who are our rivals?

I still view that humans cannot cope with this level of information sharing and gathering and it's why so many people are becoming mentally ill. It's just wrong on a biological level today that some people can know the intricacies of a war in a country 4,000 miles away but they don't even know who their neighbours are.
You know what I did today?

I went and introduced myself to a neighbo(u)r down the street that I’d never met before.

And my wife walked our dog with another neighbo(u)r’s dogs. They’d never done that before together.

These things really happened. Thanks for your post. It inspired us.

I've tried to do things like that more myself and I feel that a lack of talking, understanding and respecting is a major problem in society. There are people who may be struggling or who knows but community can make the difference and ultimately many nowadays say they lack identity but a lack of community is what really spoils that.

Case in point for me is a young Muslim family moved in on the corner about a year ago. We sent a card round saying congrats new house etc and we got a thank-you card back. I now have regular chats with the bloke there because he always has his Liverpool shirt on so we have some good banter. Their kids also play outside all the time and they make time to say hi to my 11 month old daughter whenever they see her so it's just nice.

If you lived solely in the social media world then you'd think that Muslims were the demons of the world and yet if people actually just speak to others then they might see things differently. Yes they live differently and some people would be suspicious and avoid however that is because of prejudice and not fact. All that social media succeeds to do is appeal to our prejudices but never fact and living like that is never going to be a good thing.

A reason for volatility within society is encapsulated perfectly in this little clip:

A useful idiot claiming everyone is welcome as a terrorist uses him as a vault to propel himself as he throws a bomb at a crowd. You couldn’t make it up.

And people who oppose this are called the problem.
