I dont want anyone to think that discussion of immigration (legal and illegal) is racist. And have never suggested it was.
 
I quite like the fact that some people are coming out as racist. Such honesty is better than hypocrisy.

I do not know how they can attend a major football match or visit a hospital. But they're the ones who need to do the mental gymnastics.

Asking them what percentage of the “boat people” they think hate our culture would be an interesting question.
 
I think it is also important to stress that no blame should be attached to any of the migrants for coming to the UK, that goes for both legal and illegals, i can not blame anyone who wants to find themselves a better life, that better life nay be safety, economical, even criminal activity.The people to blame are the politicians who for many years have applied policies to allow this to happen and vilified anyone who dares speak out.

That’s a start, but now try thinking about it from a lack of infrastructure development point of view.

Rather than vilifying people who want to be here, try to bemoan the lack of investment in infrastructure. That is what is really making our lives worse off.

Briefly all i will say is if one doesn't have a number generally then how would they ever judge if a government is doing a good job on the matter, in terms of costs I dont think many care once it gets to billions of pounds, it's just a very big number. Is 1bn acceptable? 5bn? 10bn?

The simple fact is smash the gangs, stop the boats and promises to reduce overall immigration have been promises of several govts. If they didn't have numbers in mind and neither did anyone else then they shouldn't make promises they are unwilling or incapable of keeping .

If someone is a knuckle dragging racist for wanting immigration at say 100,000, when do they stop being a right wing nutter? 200 000? 500,000? a million ? Is it only the poster who will never give a number the morally sound one? Is that why they wont commit to it?

You can only have a certain number of options

No immigration or asylum seekers at all

Just asylum seekers

A limited number of each

No limits at all

It's seems an easy cop out for some to never state their preferred option and just comment on the unreasonable options preferred by others.

If we are being honest the politicians havent a clue how to deal with the boat situation, it's been pretty desperate stuff. Not sure if anyone does tbh.

I dont think anyone has an issue with overseas nationals who come here and pay taxes through gainfull employment.

Nearly 40% of all children in schools in the year 24/25 in England belonged to Ethnic Minorities. Current rate trends suggest it will be less than 10 years before there will be more children in English schools that are from minority backgrounds than White British.

You can put me in whatever 'box' you want but I find it staggering.

I agree 100%, successive Governments have failed its citizens, and somehow allowed themselves to be hamstrung by their own decisions.

I think that’s part of the problem though in that everyone is now looking for simple answers (as people always will) to what is a very complex question and we’ve had very few politicians willing to properly say that and explain why, they prefer the sound bites too despite it meaning they continuously fail to deliver on their slogans.

I’m not sure how anyone can come up with an overarching acceptable figure when different sectors have different demands all the time, it just wouldn’t make sense to me. I’ve never seen it as a one size fits all. I wouldn’t judge a government based on immigration figures as such though, I’d judge them on the net benefit or loss from it, either to the economy as a whole or the individual sector that needs it. I’d also be questioning them on what the underlying reasons are that mean we need it.

Like I said, personally I don’t see immigration as a moral question, I do asylum seekers though.
