What? Confiscated the flags? My father in law works fire station here in Kent, Reform councilors turned up uninvitedly and asked where the box of Pride flags was and took them away. so embarrassed where we're heading.

Crack on.
Dealing with illegal immigration and immigration in general is not racist.
You wanting everyone to think it is, is no longer of relevance.
Asking them what percentage of the “boat people” they think hate our culture would be an interesting question.I quite like the fact that some people are coming out as racist. Such honesty is better than hypocrisy.
I do not know how they can attend a major football match or visit a hospital. But they're the ones who need to do the mental gymnastics.
That’s a start, but now try thinking about it from a lack of infrastructure development point of view.I think it is also important to stress that no blame should be attached to any of the migrants for coming to the UK, that goes for both legal and illegals, i can not blame anyone who wants to find themselves a better life, that better life nay be safety, economical, even criminal activity. The people to blame are the politicians who for many years have applied policies to allow this to happen and vilified anyone who dares speak out.
Briefly all i will say is if one doesn't have a number generally then how would they ever judge if a government is doing a good job on the matter, in terms of costs I dont think many care once it gets to billions of pounds, it's just a very big number. Is 1bn acceptable? 5bn? 10bn?Yes but which numbers? The discussion we were having was about the overall cost of asylum and reasons for that increasing. I was challenging the perspective that it was down to the overall number of arrivals as it’s more down to our cost of applications which have increased significantly due to time to process and also some daft contracts (a recurring theme over the last few years…)
In terms of giving a number for asylum or immigration, personally I couldn’t give a number as I genuinely don’t know. On asylum seekers, I don’t personally have an issue with the number of applications we currently deal
with, I’d like to see them processed far quicker and safer though and those that go through the process and are deemed illegal deported quicker.
On the latter, as I said earlier in the thread, I have issues with the number of visas we have allowed for people working in sectors that I don’t think are needed. Whether we need more in other areas, I have no idea so giving an overarching number, I don’t know how anyone can give that and I’m not sure it’s a good idea to.
I don’t think it’s really a moral argument as you’re combining two different things, at least to me, and only one of them I see as having a moral perspective to it.
I dont think anyone has an issue with overseas nationals who come here and pay taxes through gainfull employment.I quite like the fact that some people are coming out as racist. Such honesty is better than hypocrisy.

Coincidentally they all come out in force outraged about migrants the day Labour took power a year ago - where was the flags and painting roundabouts back then ?
Almost like they’ve been whipped up on social media scrolling through Reform bot algorithms.
And how would 'anyone' know whether the foreign looking geezer they're hurling abuse at in the street does actually have a job and pay tax?I dont think anyone has an issue with overseas nationals who come here and pay taxes through gainfull employment.
I agree 100%, successive Governments have failed its citizens, and somehow allowed themselves to be hamstrung by their own decisions. That’s a start, but now try thinking about it from a lack of infrastructure development point of view.
Rather than vilifying people who want to be here, try to bemoan the lack of investment in infrastructure. That is what is really making our lives worse off.
More hyperbole which ironically is one of the countries biggest problems. It used to be the EU that was the cause of all our problems, now it’s immigration. Get rid of the immigrants then who’s next?
Farage does.I dont think anyone has an issue with overseas nationals who come here and pay taxes through gainfull employment.
Don’t worry about it.
It’s the usual noise that for years worked in silencing debates they didn’t like or want but thankfully it’s no longer working.
Even Starmer and co are racists these days if you’re to believe them.

The simple fact is smash the gangs, stop the boats and promises to reduce overall immigration have been promises of several govts. If they didn't have numbers in mind and neither did anyone else then they shouldn't make promises they are unwilling or incapable of keeping .
If someone is a knuckle dragging racist for wanting immigration at say 100,000, when do they stop being a right wing nutter? 200 000? 500,000? a million ? Is it only the poster who will never give a number the morally sound one? Is that why they wont commit to it?
You can only have a certain number of options
No immigration or asylum seekers at all
Just asylum seekers
A limited number of each
No limits at all
It's seems an easy cop out for some to never state their preferred option and just comment on the unreasonable options preferred by others.
If we are being honest the politicians havent a clue how to deal with the boat situation, it's been pretty desperate stuff. Not sure if anyone does tbh.
Fuck me its Pinocchio day today on here. Is there actually any of you that thinks that post actually works in any way whatsoever?I quite like the fact that some people are coming out as racist. Such honesty is better than hypocrisy.

I have no doubt he does, he's a prick.Farage does.
Fair enough. Pity I can’t vote SNP!Except Green, SNP and Liberal Democrats. There are choices. I agree with you that Labour, Tory and Reform are in a competition.
