Is that your argument?

English ethnicity starts when "England" started? So nothing counts before that? Not the obvious fact that the population in 927 AD was all was immigration? And the 8,000 Normans had no influence on English culture.

Typical English DNA is still a third Anglo-Saxon but the rest is something else (from before or after 927). In 927 that must have been much more Anglo-Saxon. So all your posts are based on arguing that the dominant strain of English ethnicity means we're mostly of German extraction.

I thought it was pretty obvious what he meant. Most countries are fairly homogeneous whereas the EU isn’t. Obviously the larger ones less so but most EU countries are relatively small with huge differences between say Greece and Belgium, so saying move to the EU is pretty meaningless.

For some reason the patriots have taken to singing the song "(Something Inside) So Strong" written and recorded by British singer-songwriter Labi Siffre.

Now from Wiki, the song was written in 1984, inspired by a television documentary on apartheid in South Africa seen by Siffre in which white soldiers were filmed shooting at black civilians in the street.

Who knows whether they've done this in some twisted attempt to adopt the song or because they were completely unaware of the links and think the lyrics resonate with their views:
