What has the UK become under the far right influence?

Wasn't sure where to put this but I think this is the most relevant place. Over the weekend an infant Jesus icon from a Christmas Nativity scene was stolen from the Grand Place in Brussels. The theft happened either late on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday morning following the Christmas light switch-on in the Grand Place which happened at 6pm on Friday. It's got added relevance to me as I've just spent the whole weekend in Brussels and was at the switch-on with the other half.

I didn't actually hear anything about the theft until after I got home last night - after all I wasn't there to catch up with the news and was too busy getting pissed on all those fantastic Belgian beers amongst other things - when I saw someone on FB share a GB News story about it. Unsurprisingly, GB News are trying to link it to a pro-Palestinian demo that took place on Friday night following the Christmas lights switch-on (I didn't see the protest myself as we left the main square around 7-ish), yet their report states that the theft happened hours after the demo, not during it (some pretty desperate straw-clutching right there). The report also stated that it had been beheaded but this has now been confirmed as not being true and it was an outright theft. GB News are clearly trying to imply that someone who was at the demo was responsible so I've done some more digging. It turns out that this particular nativity scene has been hugely criticised by many Christians because the characters lack eyes, noses, and mouths. The head of one of Belgium's centre-right parties has been amongst the critics and while he's far from the only one it starts to paint a different picture to the angle GB News are running with. Now I'm not saying that it definitely wasn't one of the protestors who was responsible but given the level of outrage amongst many Christians in the lead-up to the theft, surely it's just as likely or more likely that the perpetrator came from that community:

Well of course. It's absolutely outrageous for Jesus to be in the nativity scene before Christmas Day.

Right wing? Yes.
Far right nazi ideals ( as the thread title implies? No.

.....seriously!

This is just intellectually dishonest, as it says far right influence, not ran by the far right.

But that's the right wing of this forum all over, isn't it.

all of them, ten names followers, Farage fanciers, Habib and Lowe lovers - the info is out there so they are either brainwashed or fucking stupid - those who send money are being duped but hey ho they can all join in the grift

They believe they're going to win because they have vast support from many on the right many in the establishment and also many in the pro Israel movement. They've also got GB News and the Daily Telegraph who I believe have been floating ideas about Muslim remigration and paying them to leave. This isn't just 'knuckle draggers' it's the most influential powerful clever and determined people imaginable.
Read what people like Douglas Murray writes. These people would happily murder millions of us and given half a chance they will.
They've got a vast potential death squad sat on social media who've been told every day since 11 September 2001 that more or less Muslims don't deserve anything but liquidation. Lefties the same.

I'd really really love to be proved wrong about where this is heading.

Although I do think we have a problem with Islamism in this country, I share your concerns.

And it is being done cleverly. Since 9/11 the focus has been on misrepresenting sacred texts and the exegesis of those texts, caricaturing Islamic history, highlighting certain Muslim beliefs and practices in such a manner as to make them seem puritanical and extreme, presenting Islam as if it is nothing more than a political ideology, giving too much of the oxygen of publicity to characters like, say, Anjem Choudary and Haitham Haddad, and depicting UK Muslims as a potential Fifth Column who - a bit like the Borg in Star Trek - all think and act the same way, and are intent on taking over and replacing us.

The problem is that while all these narratives are contestable, unless you have studied Islam academically or done a fair bit of reading about the faith, you may not know that they are.

As for Douglas Murray, I’ve only ever read one article by him. It was to do with the Palestine-Israel conflict. There were so many distortions in it that it was difficult to know where to start.

So yes, I’m a bit worried too.

We need a 7of 9..

and they're quite difficult to explain so people won't listen long enough or understand it.

It's much much easier to set a house on fire than to put it out afterwards.
