What If The Unthinkable Becomes Reality......

Genuinely not fussed if it did happen (don't think it would) and we lose players as a result.

We'll be back with different players, and we'll be back strong.

One year is not going to derail this.

We shouldn't be thinking of this but being City we will.

I think the next 2 are crucial to get confidence levels back up but if we don't get at least 4th then we start again throwing money at quality instead of quantity.

Convincing players to come will be an issue if no Champs league but we have done it before

I think we will now go on an unbeaten run and finish 2nd!!!
For the rags there jamminess can't go on forever, there luck surely has to run out soon.
They will eventually drift away to mid table every season. Its the fact that Us, liverpool, arsenal, spurs have all been under par.
And its let them shower of cnuts fluke there way up there.

We all hate the bastards, but we all seem to gift them wins!

Either;

1. The cycle begins again and we spunk lots of money at the problem until we get back, and hopefully along the way we make a legal challenge against both UEFA and the EPL

or,

2. The Sheikh loses patience, cuts his losses and fucks off

I wake up in a cold sweat dreaming he has given 'the project' to one of his nephews as a birthday present but it only comes with £10 million a year.

and we finish outside the top 4?

I remember we used to admit if we were shit enough to go down, and didn't see a thread on this so why not make the forum happier and get the ball rolling on this topic ;)

No doubt the vultures would be swooping over our prized assets like Kompany, Toure, Silva, Aguero etc, how difficult will it be to hold on to them?

What financial constraints would it put on the club, and could the club honestly rebuild enough to get back in to the top 4, as it's not a given.

Would attendances reach the level needed for the new development?

Are there any other problems finishing outside the top 4?

It won't happen mate. Although we are playing shit we will remain in the top 4.

I'm more concerned about this summer. Can we attract the right players, will they want to come and can we trust the transfer committee to target the right people? We have dropped a major bollock in the last two to three summers, it is imperative we get this one right.

Finish 4th and we will probably get some tricky qualifying game in Turkey in early August.
That's the summer holidays sorted then.

I'm sure your wife would be delighted to have to wear a stab proof vest rather than a bikini this summer.

If our form does not improve it will very much happen.

A few weeks ago,the optimists were saying 2nd was nailed on, then third now 4th.

All it will take is a slip up in the next 2 games and we are right in the shit. We are fortunate that we have 4 homes games.

I don't see a bunch of players up for the fight at all. Most of them look like they couldn't care less.

The manager has still not been sacked and god knows why not, as it should have happened weeks ago.

If it does happen the fans on the waiting list might think twice about coughing up for a ST especially when they realise there are no £299 seats left. The premium seats at £1700 may not be as in demand as the club think.

The players that have caused this will start manoeuvring for a move although to be honest other than Kun and Silva I wouldn't be bothered about any of the others going.

We will have to pay silly wages again to attract anyone decent and no doubt have to overpay for English over hyped players who may not come if we don't finish top 4.

It will take time for the new squad to gel and probably set us back a year or two.

It's not good whichever way you look at it.

Not too fussed if we finished outside the top 4 or 6 for that matter.

We have the buying power to get back on track despite the setback it would be.

What's more important is we get better in the transfer market and continue with youth investment even though we haven't seen the results of this at the highest level yet.

If we stick with MP I think we will finish lower than 4th for sure and we may still if PV comes in for the last 6 games or so such is the players attitude to their game day approach for much of the season.

When Yaya , VK , Zabba, Hart, Silva and a couple of others are down on form confidence and quite likely all well past their best at this club then a result like this is more likely than not.

We haven't addressed an aging squad and a squad that cannot to a man take us to where we need to go in Europe.

Its accelerates the fact that VK , Zabba, MDM , Clichy, Sagna, Navas, Kolorov, Dzeko, Nasri to name but a few will play no real part in our future beyond this season.

Those players need to be replaced over the next couple of windows or at best have their roles redefined.

We have been in free fall for a sustained period of time with the odd blip to mask the obvious.

None of our squads have been within a bulls roar of what is required in Europe and we need to step up a huge gear in future investment in the open market and in our acedemy.

Any body who thinks and I will go so far as to say any of our current squad will be representing us when we play in the Chumps League final is deluding themselves.

Some decisions on the futures of players like Zabba and VK have to made in the summer.

Personally I wouldn't be fussed if we sold both in the next window although I think both are loyal enough and stern enough to fight for their place next season although I don't think either have much a future in the NEW AGE CITY to come.

Fight they will have to because we need much better than them now at their stage of their careers to step up to next level.

We'll take it on the chin and move on. We've been in worse positions than missing out on CL

Of course we have mate, but it's not really the point.

For the club we are now, that really would be pretty catastrophic. We have to buy some new top class players and get rid of the players who don't care - that needs to happen whether we finish top 4 or not.
Doing that whilst being able to offer top 4 is fine. Without top 4, it's not so fine - the vast majority of players want to come and play CL football. We also need a manager who can attract players - if we don't finish top 4, will we get a new manager who can attract high quality players.

We will have to do what we have done in the past/what United have done and offer silly wages - but are we in a position to do that with FFP? Plus, we don't want to do that.

Not getting top 4 would be a huge step back - huge.
