What if we just went with Delap, Jesus, and Torres?

If we end the transfer window with Jesus, Delap and Torres as our striker options - then we likely will not win the P/L - let alone the C/L - next year. Teams around us are strengthening. So too must we, to keep up and maintain our competitive advantage.

Honestly, I‘d love it if we just went with Delap as our main option up front.

Ballsy move but it’s been done before. Kane and Rooney got that chance when they were young. Best development you can give him

Kane spent several years learning his game in the lower leagues and Everton took a chance on Rooney but he was their best player and they were hardly title challengers.

Rooney as much as he’s an utter bell would have been playing in our team most weeks at 18. He was freakishly good as a young player so trying to compare a player with potential but the first touch of Shaun Goater is a little bit silly. Not improving our team with top class players after winning titles has come back to bite us on the arse on a few occasions. I trust the board will have learnt from the RVP mistake by now.

Untried in the Premier League it might just work.

But in reality it would probably be an unmitigated disaster. Do you want to go into a season on a wing and a prayer.

If we go into another season without a decent left back and without a top class striker someone wants fucking. I trust Ferran I don`t have any confidence in Begiristain.

I`d love it if he turns out to be good enough. The odds are hugely stacked against him reaching a good enough level to even play for a championship team.

Rooney was a freak in more ways than one. Also I think Harry was loaned out for a couple of years and did not break into the first team as a kid. Unlike the case of Forden the best developmental path for Delap would be a loan move. Ironically he could end up with Rooney which might be what is pissing some people off.
Jesus and Torres are a bit different in their approach Torres seems to run in behind a lot but we don't seem to pick him out very often. Gabby we know offers a lot but neither seem capable of more than 10 or 15 goals a season or importantly getting those really important goals in tight games which Kun was so good at.
