What is a "baller"?

In 20 years the term "Baller" will be deemed old fashioned and will be replaced by another word that some fuckwit has made up to describe something that there is already a word for :)

Nah, in English football terms it means someone who has skills beyond the norm. Someone whose shape, style, touch, and skills scream something more than just “Prem quality player.”

It also applies across sports, too, but is something slightly different in America, where it also encompasses aspects of an athletes lifestyle.

I think the term first applied to basketball players, and became associated with certain players for their in AND OFF field activities.

There was an HBO show called “Ballers,”where Dwayne The Rock Johnson was an agent to b-ball players in Miami. That was as much about lifestyle as the game, in fact more so.

In England, though, Declan Rice’s free kicks tonight would be baller goals, but in American terms he wouldn’t be considered a baller, because he appears to have no particularly special skills or a lifestyle away from the game that stands out at all.

Invented for the sole purpose of annoying old cunts who refuse to accept that language constantly evolves and would still have everyone talking like that cùnt Shakespeare if they had their way.

That’ll be me then. I still wish those in the public eye spoke like the old Pathé News readers.

Isnt this just the same as what is put out by "commercial marketing teams" - the biggest waste of air on the planet
