What is it exactly that we hate about em ?

Damocles - I don't understand the game because I'm a United fan? Absolutely pathetic if im being honest.
You think because you've had a shit team for years and have bought a few mercenaries that you are a football expert?
Just read some of the posts on here and that will answer you point, posts comparing city with barcelona and iniesta with barry, laughable at best.

I'll happily take my ban on the chin if i'm binned for this but the drivel you've just posted is horseshit

Of course I wouldn't ban you for having a pop at me ssg, you should know that by now.

You've misunderstood my post. I'm not saying that you don't understand tactics, training or how to play the game or whatever. I'm saying that United fans have never experienced the 'other side' of the game. United have been successful now for two decades, and there are a large amount of their fans who have no idea what it is like to worry about relegation, to go to Grimsby on a wet Wednesday afternoon and watch your team play like schoolchildren. To attach hero status to a funny looking Bermudan striker because he scored lots for you in Division Two. To pin your hopes and dreams on Kevin fucking Horlock.

Football is like this for 87 teams. Those other 5 or so have no real knowledge of that type of dedication, appreciation and emotion. Finishing second and not signing £30 million players is an excuse to start up another club in protest of the 'despicable' period that your team is going through.

That was my point. Football to 95% of teams is a completely different supporter experience to that other 5%. To be honest, it's depressing as fuck. You think it's bad to finish second in the league? Think how bad it is to watch Steve Lomas run the ball into a corner and seeing yourself get relegated. Then relegated again, to the point of bankruptcy.

Most United fans have never experienced this very real side of the game, and this is what I meant when I said that they don't understand football, not that they don't understand how the game is played.

Also, isn't it funny how players come to us for "money" yet players come to you for "glory". Wayne Rooney's £200,000 a week contract must give him loads of glory. That makes him higher paid than leading goalscorer Carlos Tevez by the way.

Could not of put it better myself

It's their Fans. Sulky, whiny, petulant Babies who throw their toys out of the pram whenever they don't win.

5 minutes of being a Blue (pre-Abu Dhabi takeover) and they'd be heroin addicts.

Just been talking to a bloke at work who is a Blackpool supporter and he was going on about how much he hates Preston and everything about em and it got me too thinking about us and them lot over at the swamp, what exactly is it that i or indeed we as city fans hate about them, is it the fans, the club, the players ? I mean i have a cpl of rag mates but at the same time if i meet someone first time and find out they are a rag im immediatly put off them .. so yeah was just wondering what is it exactly .. other than of course the fact they are all huge twunts ??

I`ve noticed from the years my children have been going through school that when ever a bully or a knob ed of the classes name crops up invariably they are scummies, and I can only deduce they take it through life with them. Like you I have many good mates who are u****d fans but when I see a red shirt on holiday or I find out they come from the dark side I switch off, infact I can`t help it, if I see a red shirt I automatically think `PRICK`......I should`nt but I do.

Think arrogance think united.

Bang on.
The other thing that always makes me laugh is how the fawning tossers in the media refer to their players with first names...."Wio,"..."Wayne.."...or nicknames..."Giggsy,Scholesy..."...and how rag players are the only ones who have nicknames on the back of their shirts...."Chicarito..." fucking total bollocks....and can somone for the life of me explain how "j.evans" is always referred to as "Jonny Evans"...never,ever just "Evans....."

Annoying as fuck.Only at the rags!

Wont we be gloryhunters though in a few years, that's what i'm worried about.

I'd worry about that then if I were you, we need some glory before we even have that issue to deal with.

At risk of being battered here............I dont hate them, I'm a lifelong city fan before that comes back at me, but I just dont hate them and ive always had a sneaking admiration for saf and they way he sticks up for his team no matter what, dont get me wrong I dont like them and never want to see them win anything ever ever ever but i dont hate them or the fans.

For me it's the United fans themselves. Whenever i seem to have a conversation with one i just know any points i make, any views i have, are never going to be taken seriously simply because i'm a Blue. I never like generalising people and i have known a few good'uns (emphasis on the "few") but whether it be a place of work, out and about if i meet another person i can talk with them quite easily and get along amicably.

But as soon as the topic so happens to switch to football and they say they support United and i City, the mood changes. I've gone from being "likeable, social stranger" to "bittoh Citeh fan" in their opinions.
It's not about dislike for the clubs success, it's how their fans view other human beings as lower than they are simply because they support a football team that has been successful. I coud have performed life saving heart surgery on their child it doesn't seem to matter.

The fans are influenced by what their club says and does, like little sheep the follow and believe everything the clubs PR department mentions as fact. Like little parrots they repeat on mass, using ignorance and arrogance to even accept a differing opinion.

Or to put it another way, scummy United Bastards.

I have known some decent United fans in my time. Frankly, they were mostly the old brigade who could remember when their team was shit, and they are a dying breed.

What pisses me off most about Rags fans is that they think that somehow their team's 20 odd years of success somehow rubs off on them and makes them better than anyone else. They are often the sort of people who have never achieved anything in their own lives and hang onto United's success as a sort of comfort-blanket. They are somehow 'part of it'.

I actually think the real United fans will benefit if their team falls apart for a decade or so as it will get rid of these tossers.

Gererally people who follow them have a need to be associated with success because of their own general lack of it. That's fair enough but then they gloat about it to local supporters. Pack animals and bullies who can't cope with the peer pressure.
