What is our strongest XI when everyone is fit?

The real issue is what is our best team this week. Pep seems to think including the old and the slow is fine. Most of us don’t agree.
Are you going for a faster tempo and full backs wide out up the pitch, wingers inverting?

If its based on good consistent performances from this season you couldn't pick a 5 a side team to be honest. Being fit and staying that way is a huge hope. I mean do you include someone like stones or not ? Ability is without question. So having to take a leap of faith with judging players quite early and from snippets from people like Bobb and Marmoush the guys that I would personally take forward are :-

Whilst we have been terrible, I think this is the time Gvardiol has proved he should be CB first, LB second.

So far since the HT switch v Bournemouth him and Dias are 225 minutes in without conceding.

I think next season this needs to be the base.

We then should have more then enough cover even if we lose a CB, with Stones, Ries, Akanji, Ake, Kushanov.

We need to see if Kushanov can play RB and get rid of the Nunes experiment and then up to him and Akanji for the position.

LB seems a place for a signing, all fit I think Ake has to go there with back up being Gvardiol and a change at CB, but I would like this to be a last resort for consistency so would like to see a LB signed. O’Reilly will have a Rico fall from grace if played their consistently and could lose momentum on a clearly talented player.

Midfield is depressing, in that we have had some of the very best players in the world and has been a place of strength, quality and depth. This season it has been average at best.

Best side would have Rodri, even if it takes sometime to bounce back. It needs Foden of last season. I’m really struggling here to see who gets in before the obvious it is not Foden of last season. So maybe I’d go Bernardo and Mahmoush. However, this is the area of the team I am least confident in. KDB hopefully has some final moments before end of seasons. But him and Gundo should not be in the squad next. Nico, should hopefully be able to get some minutes to help with Rodri and also as the 8, but Pep has some work to do here if he is to be our standard.

Wingers, Sylvino, Doku, Bobb, Grealish again another tough ask the most exciting was Bobb in pre-season and I don’t think it would have been that unexpected if he had been fit that he would have nailed down a first team place this season. However, it is hard to put him on the fact he has been nothing but a bit part player.

Grealish I like but feel for him and the club it would be best if he moved on.

Better strength in midfield would also give Mahmoush as an option.

So I’m going Doku/ Sylvino and not happy with it.

Sticker - Haaland, he’s world class finisher and on a long term contract. Players brought need to help get the best out of him.

On form and all fit that’s a mint team. And that’s without Savinho, Doku, O’Reilly, Bernardo, Reis, Kovatic, Lewis, Gundo, McAtee, Nunes etc. Shows how we’re not in such a mess. Swap 2 or 3 (Nunes, Kovatic, McAtee?) bench players for better players, and sign a full back, and we’re good to go next season. Made me realise if we don’t qualify for champs league it won’t be a disaster.
This season is just one of those seasons every top team has. Pep has been a disaster but that won’t last. He’s not a one tactic wonder like mourinho. He’ll evolve.
Still not looking forward to today though lol. Just can’t wait for this season to end

I’ve just turned on the TV and seen that line up. Furious doesn’t cut it. I have defended Pep to the idiots on here but this line up makes me think he’s lost it. So angry
 
Today’s line up is absolutely fucking shit.

Maybe Pep is trying to make a point that he needs half a billion to spend in summer. If so, he’d be right.
 
I think OReily might be the real deal. Fullback isn't even his best position is it?
