What is problem with given and his studs/footwear?

i was 5 rows behind the goal on sunday watching the lads warm up to see given being worked very hard on shots and crosses then practising his kicks, why then 5 minutes into the game is he needing the kit man to come and change his studs as the game continues on? his focus wasnt 100% on the game and that simply isnt ggod enough!

This isnt a goalkeeper that has only played a few times in the premier league he is one of, if not the most expeirenced premier league goalkeeper around surely he know what type of studs he should be wearing after he has carried out his warm up :???

Another thing, im sick of him being so lazy/relaxed when it comes to pass backs, Darren Bent almost got in on the blindside ealry in the first half!

I have to ask the question, is this man really any better than Hart ?

He is a quality goalkeeper but for some reason he was better earlier in the season. He seems to be a bit more slack now and combined with his issues about coming off the line is why criticism has arisen.

Him not coming off the line has cost us quite a few goals but to be fair, his shot-stopping is second to none and he has saved us many goals, so it may balance out.

I think most City fans would prefer Joe in goal but only when he is ready. The gap between them is closing if they aren't already at each others' level. This talk of Buffon coming is a bit unsettling as it'd push Joe further out of the picture and I remember Buffo(o)n demeaning us when we were linked to him some time back.

I think he changed his gloves aswell,his throwing/kicking is strange to say the least.

there seemed a problem with his studs comming loose, maybe the thread had gone ? all players have diff preferances. some like to wear new boots in training to break them inn. where some can put them on straight away for a match ie swp.

Wasn't he one of the players who was dead against Hughes' sacking? Don't think he's really played at his best since Mancini came in.

If that's the case he needs to get over it. Being at Newcastle he's used to managers coming and going.

I've noticed similar problems with Shay of late. His kicking is sometimes attrocious for a well established Premier League goalie.

But why he needed to change his boots 10 minutes into the game is beyond me after 45 minutes of warming up in them, deary me.
