Can well understand why the press viewing of the final episode (before it was shown on TV) resulted in all of the audience standing on their feet and applauding when Tyler did what he did.

I was the same when I saw it on the TV...I knew what he was going to do and when he started running I was shouting "Go Sam GO!" with bloody tears in my eyes.

Best British Television in years imho.

I have the DVD Boxsets of both series of Life on Mars and series one of Ashes to Ashes.

Those last ten minutes were fantastic.

Did you do what I did when you saw Sam on the roof? Did you know what he was going to do? I didn't as it happens, but when he started the run I was cheering..... ;-)

I wasn't sure what he was going to do to be honest?

Just got a warm glow when he finally snogged Annie - but thats because a bit of me is a romantic!

Then pissed myself when Gene pulled up in the Cortina and started ordering them around!

Only fools and horses was a great show for 20 odd years loved worldwide.
Of recent times,both the Sopranos and the wire have been brilliant.

Got to add six feet under to that list and two more that should have run longer,Millennium and deadwood.

Not now of course as it's just another soap opera, but in it's heydey was brilliant television and certainly one of the best police dramas ever made.


Probably not the best ever but "The Black Donnellys" is a more recent show and only lasted a season but is fantastic television, made by the guys who made "The Departed"

The sopranos has to be the greatest ever, david chase's bet creation. and secondly it has to be band of brothers! HBO just come up with the best.

Anyone agree?

Band Of Brothers does it for me! Soprano's would have won my vote but season five and six were poor!
