There is no point in Giraffes as such, they've just evolved to fit a specific ecological niche as whole, not just to feed at the highest foliage, because quite often they stoop to graze lower down. There's a whole load of other possible functions for hte long neck.

You could say there's no point in humans really we've just evolved, well except the rags.

I don't have any career prospects to be hindered in the first place so no worries there.
