What level of security do you have when you go away on holiday?

Invest in some automatic curtain closers, some automatic light switches, some self watering flowers in vases, some sensitive cameras with 24 hour notifications, arrange for a neighbour to change the cars around regularly on the drive, cancel all deliveries, cancel your window cleaner, notify the emergency services. Amazon do a lovely range of bear traps, reasonably priced as well may I say, topped off with some lengths of razor wire well hidden in the gutters. All that remains is to set up a flare gun up to a trip wire around your house/premises and enjoy your hollybobs.
Fucking hollybobs? Holibobs shirley? ; )

We're off soon for a few weeks, is it a good idea to get a couple of cameras or something, what do people recommend ?

There's hardly any break-ins where I live but you never know.
Post your travel plans on Facebook. I’m sure one of your neighbours will see it and keep an eye on the place for you.

No need to thank me.

I put time switches on lights so they may come on at 8 and go off at 11, say. I’m sure that deters anyone who watches thinking we are away. Other than that my windows all lock and my doors are security doors so if you drill out the lock you still can’t get in.
I live in a low crime area but a nearby house was broken into recently.

One problem is the posties who don’t push letters all the way but leave them sticking out. Drives me mad.

My wife tells everyone on the street that we are going away, it's incredible that we haven't been robbed yet.

Read on Facebook yesterday about someone in Denton being burgled the other night - involved using industrial tools to get in. If I was going away I'd be tempted to leave valuables with relatives.
I just use light timer and leave the radio on.

I have fuck all, just insurance

If they robbing you, they robbing you

Who nowadays responds to a neighbours alarm.

What are cameras going to do if they really want to get in

All they will do is let you watch as they sniff your wife’s knickers

Our two cats have sadly passed away, but Mrs Prague had them cremated and we have their ashes in boxes. Would it do any good if we put the boxes in the front window?
Probably more effective to put a couple of photos of them in the window (when they were alive of course).

Maybe with an 'I live here' sign.

Boxes wouldn't scare anyone.

Nothing worth nicking eh..
I went to Australia back in 96 ‘ish with er indoors for seven weeks. We were renting an old piece of shit house in town, when we left I asked if we should lock up, turned out we’d never had a key and the locks were broken anyway:)

Are you sure she's a female?
Well she's given birth twice so....yeah haha

We're getting on this 2 week cruise to Singapore, then another one to Seattle, there will be people getting on for just the first cruise with suitcases the size of coffins plus several smaller bags. :-)

One of my favourite things is sitting outside the cruise terminal near the taxi place watching people getting off the ship and struggling like fuck squeezing endless suitcases into their Uber, drivers faces with a grim look haha
