This for people who don't live in Manchester, What made you support the club?

I'm from Dublin and I woulda been kicked outta the house at 4 if I didn't support them,
My whole family are mega fans. My uncle used to play for City and scored the hat trick in Old trafford against the Rags.

What made you become a fan?

Nothing ''made'' me, although I know what you're trying to say. I lived on Claremont Road (about 5 minutes walk from Maine Road) for my first 11 years. They were my local team. Who else was I going to support; the other lot?

I supported them when my mate and his dad took me to a game at main road.

Fionan "Paddy" Fagan.

It's alright. you're from Dublin, so I guess I'll have to make allowances. Just don't let it happen again!!

same moved over here from Dublin at age 5 dad took me to city v villa in 1987 I believe and I was hooked.

In primary school I liked playing football, but didn't really watch it. Everyone in my year supported either United or Liverpool, and the odd Everton fan (with it being north wales).

I just said I was a United fan as it was easier. My uncle also bought me a united shirt, but I also had an old Liverpool shirt with candy on it from my cousin.
My dad was a City fan and my grandad played for United reserves in the 50s.

I was about 10/11 when I took to football properly, and watched City, maybe it was because I wanted to be more like my dad too, and not follow the crowd.

It was fucking hard growing up the only City fan out of all my mates and had season tickets at maine road and CoMS, wouldn't change it for the world.

And no, I didn't go to York away.

My dad moved around loads when he was younger edinburgh/portsmouth/liverpool/manchester/somerset so he didn't really have a local team. He got given an easter egg in a city mug which he still has which you can just make out the old badge an supported them from then on 1975. City the only team he took me to see and i'm from west yorkshire

Cool, I don't get over as much as I'd like too.
My dad isn't well and my old brother has too young kids so it's difficult for him to find the time!
Might have to start dragging the misses over!

-- Sat Jan 07, 2012 4:11 pm --

True that, All my friends in school where either United or Liverpool fans.
