Between here and there.
I have got a Dell laptop and it is informing me that I need to get a new battery. The problem is I don't know what model my laptop is.
The sticker on the back has faded and the box and instructions are long gone.
I have looked on help websites but they have been no help whatsoever.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A good tool for sysinfo and hardware info, close to a must have app imo.

How about taking the battery out and looking for the part number on the battery?

If it's been superseded there will still be a reference to this battery.

Or is that number missing too?

Don't buy from laptop-battery-shop.uk They are not in the UK (Hong Kong) although their site gives you the impression that they are. They sent me a duff battery. They replaced it and the new one is okay but didn't pay shipping charges for the returned faulty goods, so feck 'em I'm warning other people about this.

Your not supposed to install the optional stuff, that's just basically adware.

Just google system info tools, there are loads but uncheck the other crap free apps want to install or you get stuff like you have, annoying adware.

Hope you sort it pal now where is my pint...

How do I get rid of it all? Claro toolbar and the rest of the shit. I have tried the control panel and uninstall to no avail.

Hi Fella,
Have you been on the dell website?
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/drivershome/showproductselector" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/ ... ctselector</a>

You can choose automatically detect my service tag and that will get your service tag and ultimately tell you what model your laptop is.

As for uninstalling all the crap, you can download something called CCleaner...
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard</a>

You install that and then open it and go to tools, and you can uninstall from there. If you need a hand with any of that you can PM me :)
