What part has Bobby played in us being taken seriously?

Take away the role as the manager itself, do you think his persona and past reputation have moved us on more than other possible managers may have done?

His tactical knowledge (he knew how important it was we HAD to get point at Arsenal).

Player management. We would have imploded if Bellamy and Adebayor had stayed all season IMO

well i think his dapper style (contrast with pulis in a track suit and fucking baseball cap, jesus.) has done loads for us in feeling that we are a TOP club. mark hughes, dignified as he is, still didnt have that "im the fucking shit and this team is too" feel to him. mancini, when his english gets better will exude the class that city can then translate on pitch.

I think he's a very good manager and our achievements this season show this but as a man I absolutely love him. I love his interviews, he never says too much and he's so cool, I love his touchline presence, particularly when he gets a chance to show off his skills with the ball. Together with Khaldoon I couldn't have asked for two better men to lead this club forward.

And I think he's slowly, finally, getting the hang of the press too. He was brilliant after the semi final on the Balotelli/Ferdinand spat:

"Every time something happens it seems to be Mario's fault. If he did celebrate in front of the Manchester United supporters, I don't know, we can put him in jail if you like."

A few more of those, and the boring, negative Italian will become the 'new Special One.'

This I agree with but he had a big help on that front at the end of last season with speed the Chairman came out and fully backed Mancini for the coming season. With that one interview there was a power shift from players to manager. He has displayed that man management skill all season - from getting rid of the above two to putting Adam Johnson in his place.

Quite simple for me. Until you win something nobody takes you seriously. He is a winner and proved it again. He is the best manager we have had since Joe Mercer. I knew nothing about him at the beginning but he has grown on me throughout his time. He is cool, smart and has handled the severe pressure really well.

Well the man has already shown what a class act he really is. Panache, passion, flair, fashion, drive the lot. Even the most sceptic will be struggling for the negatives. This is 'his' time now, time to mould 'his' team. Time to play 'his' brand of football. Hang on to yer seats troops and scream if ya wanna go faster!!!
