well id rather play chelsea without torres, the same could be said of liverpool with suarez and supposed interest in young and carroll these would be harder matches for us with these players than without, all about getting points but if teams are strengthing then obviously matches are not gonna be as easy as we may assume...
I thought you were clarkie baiting to be honest, but it seems you really think we have fucked up! We have spent £27m on one striker, so your theory that we would rather play Chelsea without Torres is exactly the same way they will be thinking about us and Dzeko. We haven't fucked up one little bit.

We will have fucked up and wasted a window if we don't address the glaring need for genuine width and pace. We have a plan A but we are desperate for a plan B.

Who has taken a march on us mate? We aint stood still we went into the window needing a goal scorer an we got Dzeko. Adam Johnson got injured we may buy a replacement whats the point in buying millions of players when only 11 can play?

I know where ur coming from mate but Chelsea/Liverpool would rather play us without Dzeko. We did all our signings in the summer Silva Yaya Boateng Kolarov Milner and Balotelli thats enough for us now next season after the players have been together awhile u will see them work with each other.

Its obviously not Mancini's way though, otherwise Bellamy would still be here. I agree with you, because against Villa especially we were crying out for pace/width but its obviously not how Mancini wants his team to play. But to suggest we have sat back and done nothing in the window is a bit wide of the mark, we have signed Dzeko afterall.

Are you telling me or City this?

Because, as it stands, irrespective of peoples' opinions on Henderson's talents, our club have been interested in him for months.

Yes, he's a red. Yes, he has failed to convince when I have seen him.

Yes, Bruce would prefer a pat on the head from Sir Alex. Facts remain, we are on the clock.

So what people are saying, he is good enough for United, but not for us?

Strange

I am telling you this.

We may feel we are on the clock, but i can assure you we are not.

I have seen the attacks on you in recent weeks and can understand your defensiveness, but what other people have said is based on their opinion and they are entitled to it. Rightly or wrongly.

We are on the clock for many, many players. You will know how much the scouting network has developed in the last two years, however we are still a long way from the respect generated from other clubs. We normally get to the table because money talks or the player feels he would need us to get into the "perceived" elite.

Things are changing, but you know how slow football is to adapt when old boy hetworks are well established. Also, we have drifted a little since the spat with Kia, however, Cook's name is gaining respect.

We are far from the finished product.

Then we seem to be in agreement, here!

We do not pluck names out of thin air, the scouting has improved beyond all recognition.

It's not even a question of talent, personality plays a vital role in who they now identify.

I do not disagree with opinion, whether it be polar ends of my own.

In saying that, for a page of the board, some posters perhaps allowed their reservations of Henderson, to mistakenly assume I liked him also and was doing the buying!!

I believe we have a more realistic chance of bringing back Craig Bellamy, than last-minute panic buying.

Forget absolutely anyone which can relate to work permit issues.

Remember Mr Mariga?

Does this mean the likes of Sanchez and Hulk are out of the question then?

Hulk would be amazing for us if we could get hold of him, Pace, Power and Delivery are fantastic and also packs a great shot.
Work permits, unless been negotiated already, would be a stumbling block.

Instead, would love us to go for Torres and Young, would compliment our team briliantly and we're not sure of the extent of Balo's injury.

It annoys me this must have pace flair etc, players like Henderson and maybe Jarvis are Mancini type players. Their work ethic amongst the team is paramount, low maintenance players who will not throw the dummies out of the pram if not in the team, think Park at the rags.

As for pace, we are more about moving the ball quickly to feet and have a general movement round the last third, no one complained after the Fulham and West Ham games. Technical players for me all along above pace

But is there anything remotely technical about the likes of Henderson? Yesterday was a prime example of what we are missing, we played a weakened side but a side that should have been more than capable of taking care of Notts County. We struggled because everything was one paced, Barry, Vieira and Milner is just a horrible combination. Adding someone like Henderson will not make the slightest bit of difference because we already have better versions of him at the club.

Also the point about players who are not playing not moaning, I really dont like at all. They should all understand it is a squad game but unfortunately for us we have a load of squad players who dont seem to understand that their job is to knuckle down and try and become a regular in the 1st XI. Look at the difference between our squad players and the likes of Park who you have mentioned above. Park comes in to Uniteds team and whilst not being a great player he will run through brick walls for Taggart and the club. Compare that to the likes of Milner, Jo, SWP etc! The difference is like night and day!

Just to put the whole Henderson debate to bed, my house mate (his name on here is Bluechip), has links to Sunderland from his days playing in the United youth setup, and was told a couple of weeks back that Henderson wouldn't even entertain a move to us whilst United are interested.
