What time is it?

This is awesome, Tolmie posts one video of a clock ticking and Bluemoon's transfer forum goes ballistic. :)

I would hardly say "ballistic".

Some of us are exceptionally bored and desperate for a smidge of news......
Here here, and it lightens the day up. I do think we should flex our muscles and slap a bid in for torres, just to piss Chelsea off really.

If TH says something is cooking behind the scenes maybe there is to be another signing. With AJ injured and SWP on the way out it seems logical we would be looking at Alves, as far as FFPs are concerned they don't kick in till next transfer window when it looks as though all the players on loan will be sold providing a heathy return in the positive side of accounts. However I think we are done with this window.

I fail to see the logic...
We lose 2 wingers so we bring in a right back?

an attacking right back.

As TH has said, I really can't see us being able to turn something around with the short time we have left in this window. Certainly not something of the magnitude of Alves.

The only one I could see would be Luiz, as much of the preliminary work has already been done with Chelsea - there will be the skeleton of a deal in place already from his agent's side, a desire to move on the part of the player, and a willingness for Benfica to sell at a certain price - as long as they get it all up front. That's much of the hard work already done - we'd just have to sell City to him, and steal the existing terms of the deal from Chelsea.

This is essentially why we managed to get Robinho sorted so quickly - Chelsea had done all the legwork of the deal, but at the last minute Real decided they weren't going to sell to them - so we nicked in and said 'join us on the same terms'.

For this reason, I can only see us getting Luiz - if we're interested in him, that is.

you often find when there is little time, deals often seem to move alot quicker, obviously with less time that's natural, but it helps overall.

the robinho deal was done over the space of 12 hours, now that deal in reality would of took at least 2-3 weeks, it was basically here's the cash upfront, let's get it sorted.

if city were to go in for luiz late on with a big sum of cash which i'm neither denying or confirming here, it would be taken serious and a deal could easily be done.

No probs, mate.

There was clarification at the time. Dzeko was the name mentioned to Tevez, the show of power was shared interest in him and Luiz from Chelsea...

This time I know it's for real, the Dzeko negotiations, and, the initial interest of Real in Ade.

Albeit, I was led to believe afterwards he was going to Monaco!

I am completely in dark what this last minute messing about may be.

so nothing was in the wind? you stated that whatever "it" was, it wasn't dzeko 'cos that was a forgone conclusion.

the show of power that had all and sundry guessing on here and had convinced tevez to stay was a bit of interest in a benfica defender who we ultimately haven't been near.

people guessing that "this time i know it's for real" was kaka coming, actually turned out to be madrid loaning one of our out of favour strikers.

to summarise, when we all thought city were about to stun the football world, we just actually signed a player who we all knew we were getting anyway.
