I still laugh at it, slapstick doesn't age too much

Red Dwarf I would agree on though

Yeah, bottom never gets old . Alaways cracks me up .
Yeah, I could watch Rik Mayall all day. His scenes in Blackadder are amazing. And Bottom, obviously.

...but is crap when you watch repeats years later.

I'll start with:

Morecambe and Wise
90% of Monty Pythons flying circus (TV programmes not films)

Nijinsky's Fetlocks.

You're right Billy - I have lost my cutting edge of late.
I'll try harder in future, I really will.
Back on topic, I watched some Spike Milligan programmes the other day and they were shockingly unfunny, and I loved Spike Milligan as a kid.
Rarely disagree with you, but you are wrong sir. Wrong.

On the Buses.

To think that programme had 20 million viewers in it's day beggars belief.

I disagree.

When I watched it 40 years ago as a child it left me cold.

Now I see the comedy genius of the programme is in its slapstick predictability and the facial expressions.

That's why I like Sykes.

Each episode is the same. some daft antics from Eric and Hattie and then the policeman, Derek Guyler, comes round to offer inane advice.

Erm,........are you getting a little confused here?

I agree with the comedy genius of Eric Sykes, but Reg Varney?

Bottoms a brilliant show makes me laugh every time.

Only caught a bit of this the other night. The guys were moaning how they'd missed the BBC's Watchdog and that it had included a special report on defective bikini's!

Always funny.

Wrong about losing my cutting edge, or Spike Milligan?
Or both?
Maybe it's an age thing mate, or maybe it's the mood I was in when I watched them, because this was prior to Stevie Paedo's one-man tribute to Falling Down, and my mood has lightened since.
I'll give him another try, as I'd probably find the test card hilarious at the moment.

Captain Pugwash
Paulus the little wood gnome
Finally and i know this is sacrilege, the Magic Roundabout, Dougal just dosn't do it anymore for me!
