Well said.. A M
One of the most bizarre sights at the Manchester derby was the sight of so many half-and-half scarves – that is a half United and City scarf split between red and blue. It was the same at Anfield a week earlier, only then it was half Liverpool/United scarves. I can’t decipher why any self-respecting fan would ever want to wear the colours of their main rivals. Could you imagine Boca Juniors fans buying half River Plate scarves? Cardiff and Swansea? Wrexham and Chester? No, nay, never.
I saw a City fan rightly ridiculed by his mates for wearing a scarf which was half United. He eventually took it off, humiliated.
On Sunday after the game, I witnessed several angry United fans verbally abusing tourists for wearing half-and-half scarves in the home end. It might be a tourist attraction, but you wouldn’t put your hand into the lion’s den at the zoo and you shouldn’t wear half-and-half scarves
BAN HALF & HALF SCARFS
